You should train without gloves if you want to develop calluses for bare knuckle training. Gloves are recommended if you want to improve your punching strength and plan on using them frequently. It's your choice if you're only going to use it occasionally. If there is anything else I can do, please let me know. br>Charlesbr>The Martial Arts Storebr>(770) 441-9090br> 9946

This bag is not only of excellent quality, but also of exceptional durability for a standing kickboxing bag. I pounded this bag for about 45 minutes in the video attached, and it barely moved. If you're worried about the bag moving around a lot, don't fill it with water; water will not keep the bag stable. Kitty litter and play sand may not be dense enough for the base if you intend to deliver some heavy punches and kicks, so I filled it with 270 pounds of Quikrete sand. After each bag, give the base a good shake to ensure that the sand is evenly distributed. If you don't, the sand will be uneven when it's filled, causing the bag to shift when you hit it.
Forget about sand and water when it comes to putting your bag together. Purchase a wide mouth funnel for canning from a hardware store or Walmart. It will fit into the jar's mouth. It covers the sand or water container's mouth. Purchase clay kitty litter for a low price. I had some of the more expensive clumping kind on hand, so I used that 14 pound box, and then I had an epiphany. There's no need for the more expensive version. I went to Walmart and paid $3 for three 25-pound bags of el cheapo kitty litter. 99 each. I simply placed the funnel over the container's mouth and poured all three bags in with ease. It could hold a little more, but I was fine with the 89 pounds I was carrying. I'm a 76-year-old woman (who is fit and strong), but a big man might want to stuff it full. It only took a quick sweep and a vacuum run to finish the job. I can't imagine what a mess water and sand would make in my gym.
This is the first punching bag we've ever owned. We don't have a place in our house to hang a bag, so I preferred a freestanding bag. My expectations for the Wavemaster were far exceeded. The best part is that the height can be easily adjusted from 20" to 70". My family's tallest member stands at 5'9" and finds it comfortable, while the shortest member is my 8-year-old daughter, who stands at about 4 feet. We each get a turn on the bag and get to throw some impressive punches and kicks. I'm surprised at how well the bag has held up. We chose to fill it with water rather than sand, and there have been no leaks since the day we filled it, and it's been a little over a month since we've put it through its paces. I'm very pleased with my purchase in general. It was well worth the money I spent on it.
This is an excellent piece of training equipment for the money, especially if you don't have a convenient place to hang a heavy bag. First and foremost. . . br>br> The majority of people fill this with water because it is much easier than sand, but this is a mistake. br>br>Here's what you'll need: br>br> Remove the funnel from the hose connector by unscrewing it. It'll fit nicely in the bag base bunghole (don't worry, I said bunghole). br>br>Obtain six fifty-dollar bills. pound bags of play sand into the funnel, then wash the sand down into the bag base with a hose. Do this exercise for 20 minutes. 30 times, then turn the bag upside down to drain the water. Rep until the bag base contains all 300 pounds of sand. It'll take at least an hour, but it'll be well worth the effort. When you're finished, tip the bag on its edge (not side) and roll it to the desired location. This is going to be a smash hit. It's a solid bag that you can kick and punch the hell out of, and it won't move much unless your floors are slick. Unless you're Joe Rogan, you can put a thin foam mat under it and it won't go anywhere. Have you seen the kicks of that guy?.
It's not for someone who needs a bag that can withstand a lot of abuse. It's exactly what I was hoping for! I am a former traditional TKD instructor who is overweight (5'2" at 162 lbs) and has lost half of my strength and stamina. Despite the fact that my punches and kicks aren't particularly powerful, I manage to move this across the floor a few inches for a 10-minute workout. Punching for 15 minutes is a great way to get in some extra exercise. When I kick, I move it around a lot more. (We poured water into it. ) ) I've got a folded yoga mat underneath it to protect my oak floors while also reducing movement when I make contact; it's perfect for practicing on! It's ideal if you're trying to improve your technique and endurance. It's not for someone looking for a bag that can withstand a beating without scooting. A hanging bag is a good choice if you need a tough bag that can withstand a beating.
Mediocre. Punches and kicks with "high impact" are said to be able to be absorbed, according to the manufacturer. They leave out the fact that when you land a solid punch, it slides across the floor. If you're buying this for a child under the age of 12, make sure it's for a child under the age of 12. I don't understand why a training bag that weighs nearly 300 pounds of sand or water can't stay still. Please do not purchase this because it is less expensive than other options. It's less expensive for a reason, and it's not because you found a bargain. The reason for this is that the product is inferior to that which is used in real gyms. Make sure you don't make the same mistake I did, or that every other 1-star reviewer has made. made by a five-star reviewer Be wary of the onslaught of 5-star reviews. When the majority of bad reviews detail the same flaws over and over again, star reviews use the same descriptions ("great" "high quality"). Please feel free to leave any questions in the comments section. I'd hate for anyone else to make the same mistake I did. That's how bad things have gotten.
It's still movable, but it can take light to moderate punches and kicks.
