I had been hesitant to get my kids one for quite some time, as they've been asking for a punching bag for a while. The image in my mind was a heavy bag that I would have to install in the garage, and make sure the beam would be strong enough to My personal opinion is that installing a bag is not that useful. The moment I saw this, I thought it might work. It is different from a heavy bag, but at least it is a stand-alone base that does not take up much space. Having it set up in an indoor patio area makes it easier for me to make sure they are not hurting themselves with the activities. I can also watch them to make sure they aren't doing anything crazy. It seems the top bag is a cross between a heavy-duty bag and a cross between a satchel It is made out of heavy-duty sponge and plastic, and is strong enough to hurt your knuckles if you go bare-handed. Since our punching bag is hung up regularly (used to only be hung up very occasionally before) we've turned to it regularly during 2020. Despite the fine workout, I particularly liked the idea of adding a speed bag to it. The one I got was awesome and I'm glad I got it! Our spring and solid ball provide just the right feel and action, while the base (which we filled with water) doesn't move an inch at all. It is definitely a good choice for a home gym.
