Questions & Answers

What is the best size draft horse for this?

My horse was an Irish Draught, 17 hands and 1600 pounds.

I'd like to purchase a halter for a thick 2 year old quarter horse filly who has a more slimmer or petite head. Is it possible to combine Arabian and cob work?

Yes, I think that is correct. This is the right size for my Arabians' hands, which are 14 to 15 inches long. The weight ranges between 800 and 1000 pounds.

Would a 11 fit in a "Weanling" size? Is there a pony with only one hand?

The weanling halter is designed to fit a horse weighing between 200 and 300 pounds. 300 lbs

For a yearling horse, how many pounds is the rating?

It's difficult to say because it all depends on the shape and size of their heads. It's big enough for my 800-pound Welsh crosses.

I apologize for purchasing this item
3/5

or I'm sorry, but I purchased this in RED. It bleeds and stains your hair, and it's a pain to deal with. I'm really sorry for having to write this review because Weaver makes such wonderful products. As a result, this review receives a three-star rating rather than a one-star rating. The construction quality is good, but I made the mistake of ordering three of these in two separate orders, which I regret. or at the very least, I'm kicking myself for buying RED. Two magnificent grey Percheron horses and one Beligan horse are the recipients of these halters. The Percherons are grey horses, but these are white. My horses' faces have red streaks from wearing these halters everywhere the halters touched their hair, despite the fact that it hasn't rained yet. It appears to be a disaster. I'll try again to remove the red from my horses' faces, but it appears that it has dyed their skin. Before it snows on Thursday, I need to get these replaced, or the dye on their faces will become very dark. If you own a light-colored horse, this halter is definitely a no-no. The watch eyed horse model above has a white blaze and has clearly not been wearing this halter except for the photo, or you would see Red on its hair. I hate leaving a negative review for such a good company, but Weaver, this is simply unacceptable. If you have a light-colored horse, be aware that the red halter will stain their coat. This is unfortunate because it is otherwise a lovely halter that would receive five stars if not for the horrible staining.

The halter is strong and adjustable, with good hardware, but it is quite heavy
5/5

I bought one of these three years ago and it has held up well. The lime green color faded after the first year, but it washed up well and has good stitching and hardware. After about a minute, The chin strap clip became bent after 5 years and would not close unless I hammered it back into place. It had been iffy for over a year and a half, and had to be whacked several times, but it finally broke during a touch-up hammering just a few days ago. My horse is pasture boarded, so he doesn't wear a halter unless I'm doing something with him, but during the warmer months I honestly just hang his halter and lead on a tree branch or hook on the fence out in the sun/rain/elements. br>br>My horse is pasture boarded, so he doesn't wear a halter unless I'm doing something with him, but during the warmer months I honestly just hang his halter and lead In my opinion, three years of abuse with only color fade and a clip broken from being beaten is a good longevity. I would have gotten a single-piece halter if he had to wear it all the time. instead of these very heavy D-rings, use a layer nylon adjustable halter with just rings. shaped rings, just to give him a lighter option. br>br>My horse is a 16h 1000-pound stallion. 1100 quarter horse with a proportional, but more warmblood-like, temperament. when compared to QH The smaller holes for the behind the ears strap and the middle size holes for the around the nose strap are perfect for the large horse's head.

Sizing runs small, so go up a size! Our pony may have a large head, but I doubt it
4/5

He's a Welsh B type with only 12 hours on the clock. The nose is great, but the cheeks, as you can see, are too short and can cause rubbing sores from the buckles. We bought the weanling/pony size, and I wish I had gotten the yearling size; the nose is great, but the cheeks, as you can see, are too short and can cause rubbing sores from the buckles. I believe we have the crown on the second to last or last hole as well. I don't have many nylon halters like this because we prefer rope halters, but I wanted something simple for my daughter to put on and off, but the throat clip was too difficult for her, so she learned how to properly tie a rope halter. The throat isn't rolled either (as of February 26, 2019), but it's a lovely halter. Rope halters, on the other hand, are far more forgiving in terms of size.

It looks fantastic! It appears to be fantastic

It's perfect. He has a large head, despite being a miniature donkey. We were in desperate need of something like this. On him, too, the color is stunning!.

On the market, the best nylon halter
5/5

Weaver's halter is one of the best on the market. The hardware is of excellent quality, the nylon is thick, and the colors are vibrant and resistant to fading. I ordered a small burgundy halter for my 5-year-old Rocky Mountain mare because she has an Arabian-like narrow, petite face and can only wear pony, yearling, Arab, and now this halter! I was concerned that it wouldn't fit, but it does, and we are delighted with it. However, I wish these were available in yellow. The burgundy, on the other hand, lived up to its image.

It's well-made and fits my mini perfectly
5/5

Well-made, well-fitting, and well-adjustable. However, the color you receive will not be the color you will have after a few months of use. When I turn my horses out to pasture during the day, I leave their halters on, and when they are put up in their stall at night, I remove them. The color on the outside has 75% disappeared from the exterior has 75% disappe On the inside, it's mostly still there, but it's fading fast, so don't be too picky about the color you order.

The most beautiful halters! Weaver halters are one of my favorite styles
5/5

I've been using them with my horse since he was a weanling (15 years), and I've only had to replace them when he outgrew them or they became too dirty or faded to look nice. Unlike the DuMor (tractor supply company) and similar brands, this is the only halter he hasn't been able to break (he was a bit feisty during training). In other brands, he wears a large, but in Weaver, he wears an average, and the halter is so adjustable that I can get a perfect fit on any horse I use it on. I also appreciate the variety of colors available. This brown one was purchased as a backup for traveling and such, but I haven't needed it because the turquoise one has lasted well over a year.

Excellent value for money, as well as excellent quality
5/5

This halter is perfect for me. My gelding is a big quarterhorse with a big head. He can sit back and snap a leather halter in the blink of an eye if he so desires. br>This halter is made of high-quality brass and is extremely strong and pliable. It is also easily adjustable. br>In the future, any new halter I purchase for daily use will be a Weaver nylon halter. Thank you very much. br>.
