Questions & Answers

Is there a set of instructions included?

It's just the breakaway part of the halter that you loop through and snap together.

Is this compatible with the Intrepid halter that breaks away?

Yes!

How long have they been there?

They measure approximately 3 1/2 inches when folded. They overlap where you connect them, and I believe they are about 8 inches not folded. I put them on regular halters and gained about an inch (or one hole) by doing so. It's fantastic!

Is it possible to add this to a non-breakaway halter?

Yes, it's as simple as detaching the halter's hook and replacing it with this. I replace them on all of my halters, and this one is very durable and attractive. For a lot less than the cost of a breakaway halter, ice is a great option.

It's a cinch to use
5/5

The leather is nicely tanned, and the Chicago screws are of high quality. Just about any halter can be converted to a breakaway halter with these tabs. Remove the halter piece from between the buckle and the ring with a box cutter, and then replace it with one of these. It's less noticeable than the crown piece breakaways, but it's just as effective. After my mare caught her halter on a stall fitting while playing with it shortly after I brought her in from the pasture, I purchased this replacement package. The previous breakaway piece, which was also a Weaver, snapped as she tossed her head, exactly as it should have. Safe horse, no vet bills, and only a few dollars for a replacement. These fuses enable me to convert any particularly attractive or padded fleece comfort halter I desire. My horse will never wear a halter that hasn't been converted. Their working days can be ended with a single sharp twist of the neck. Why should you take the chance?.

It's also compatible with other brands

On my Lami, I used this as a replacement breakaway fuse. Cell halters worked just as well as the original fuses, which had dried out due to age. The leather is soft and bendable, making it simple to achieve the desired shape. They come with the necessary chicago screws for attaching them to the halter, as well as a lovely decorative flower embossed into the metal, which was a nice surprise. The chicago screws can be tightened by hand, but you'll need a flat-head screwdriver to make sure they're secure. To finish the job, use a flat-head screwdriver. When I'm in need of more, I'll gladly order these again!.

Your halters that have come undone should be repaired
5/5

These straps are designed to go with breakaway halters that have a small leather connector on one side. Not the kind with a leather top strap. They function well and come with the necessary Chicago screws. The leather is very light and delicate. However, it must be in order to fold for attachments and to ensure that it does not break if something terrible happens and your pastured horse becomes tangled in something.

The Ideal Product - Must Use
5/5

Any horse halter can be turned into a breakaway with this device. You're not restricted to a small number of special halters with the breakaway feature (yuck, leather strap across the neck). Cut one of the short halter straps away, attach the breakaway, and you're done. I had four episodes of my horses being trapped because their halters were caught on a fence or tangled in a tree limb (one of which was very serious) before I started using breakaways. I've had two more similar episodes since using breakaways, but they were both resolved by using breakaways. (Just so you know, I have transmitters on all of the halters so I can figure out what happened. ) Please, never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.

I'm about to relocate across the country, and my pony will join me in a few weeks. So, of course, she busted her breakaway strap four days before I leave; with prime shipping, I was able to get these in two days, and they're exactly what I needed to fix her halter so she could be transported - AND, just in case something goes wrong while I'm gone, I have two spares stashed in her tack box. The straps appear to be of good quality (in fact, they appear to be a little thicker than her Lami's original strap). halter for the cell).

This is an outstanding product
5/5

My son's pony isn't always fond of being caught, and I'm not fond of leaving a halter on in the field all day. I bought it to cheer myself up. Her padded web halter was transformed into a more pasture-friendly version with a little trimming with scissors on the leather ends. Halter with a secure breakaway. This is an excellent choice if you want to add an extra layer of safety to an existing halter.

Excellent craftsmanship
5/5

Breakaway halters are excellent for preventing injuries, and it's nice to have options for replacements. This works for halters other than Weaver's, but only the ones with the side part (not the crown piece, which would require a different halter).

Make a breakaway halter out of any nylon halter
5/5

These were purchased to make breakaways out of my regular nylon halters. For safety reasons, I don't want to tie my horse in a nylon halter. Simply remove the nylon piece and replace it with this one! I did put a drop of super glue into the screw before twisting it closed because the screw had previously come loose and the halter had fallen off my horse when I hadn't done so.
