Although this is a very nice ball, I was searching high and low for a ball that bounces more for kids who are playing tetherball. It is a very soft ball (even though the box says not to harm your hands), but in my opinion, that does not describe it well. I felt stinging in my hands after hitting a few targets. Even though it is not as hard as a volley ball, it is still pretty tough on the Children with smaller hands should be cautious, as I'm sure they don't have much experience using their fingers in a pinch motion to save their My mind remembers playing soccer all the time when I was a kid and not thinking the ball would be this durable. As of now, I am still searching for more of a four square bounce type of ball that can be used for some of our grandchildren under age six. Children older than five don't seem to mind their sore hands as much.
A false advertisement has been placed for this item. A ball like this for $20 isn't worth it when you don't include shipping. The tetherball comes deflated, and there is no air pump included to re-inflate it. As a result of shipping and being folded, the leather has cracked. Its inverted insert or pin makes this ball unusual and seems awkward. Other sports balls do not feature these. The wait was not worth it after waiting approximately two weeks for it to arrive. The item is being returned. Amazon is selling this item, and I am quite disappointed in it. You shouldn't waste your time on it. If you want a tetherball, you should purchase it at a sporting goods.
I believe we have played with this item 5 times so far. Our product came apart when we tried to hit it. I hope the company replaces it and honors their product warranty. I am very disappointed.
The ball itself is perfectly fine, but the nylon cord will not last more than 45 days outside. Only the grandkids and friends stay here briefly when we have them. The first part of June was when we released it. I was impressed with the results. A frayed and stretched cord was visible by the first of August. I was standing on the ground looking at the ball. The ball and cord we used for our first laptop lasted over five (After the first of September, we store it inside. A new cord was required and it was half the price of the original ball and cord.
We bought this to play tether ball outside during quarantine. Not leaving it outside when not in use was never an option. The piece of the ball that hooks to the rope broke after about a month of playing it quite a bit by ourselves (just us, our two kids, and our mom). Ours wasn't made very sturdy, so I don't know if this was a faulty unit or just not designed well. A repair or use of it is not possible. I was so bummed!.
Definitely worth it. I've had a tetherball pole in my yard for a year and it's fantastic. A tetherball was finally purchased. The whole family will enjoy this. I've been impressed by the quality of this to date. Since my kids are young, we have been using it more for a punching ball, but it is still a fun activity for the outdoors.
It is a very sturdy tether ball that feels very solid to hold. In any case, it failed to hold air once inflated because it was defective. It would have been five stars if it weren't for that.
The pin I used to inflate it was pushed all the way into the part, so I was unable to do so. I like that the ball is soft for my grandson's hands, but I was disappointed that it could not be inflated because the way it pushed the part inside the ball when I tried to inflate it prevented me from doing so.
