The device does not wobble in any way. Where the two poles are joined there is a bolt that goes in. To make sure it is properly secured, we also made sure it was at least a foot in cement.

Since I have set up this tether ball, I have had it for about three weeks. Easy to assemble and really strong, this pole is perfect for outdoor events. There was no great ball included with the kit. I had a ball that had a flat spot every 2 days and a rope that broke after about 2 weeks. It just so happens that I just purchased Regardless of the way it is done, I guess I'm just disappointed that we had to order something else and wait for it.

Metal poles that are heavy gauge are not the kind of DIY projects you'll find at Lowes. I could climb the pole literally without it moving, after you set it in the ground 2' in the ground with one bag of concrete. My hands were hurting from hits to the ball, so I deflated it a little to soften them. Gloves would probably be a better option. The movie is definitely worth watching!.
