I found the balls to be a little lighter than usual. They were also made of plastic rather than wood. However, the set as a whole left an impression on me.
Yes, today I would give it the same rating. For the purpose for which it was created, the quality is adequate. I haven't tried using the mallets to drive stakes in the ground or split cord wood, and I wouldn't recommend it, but it's a lot of fun in the backyard.
China is where this set is made. Baden Sports, on the other hand, is a family-owned and operated business located in Renton, Washington, about 15 miles south of Seattle.
Everything about this croquet set seemed to be of high quality, though the balls didn't appear to be the right weight. I recently gave two sets as gifts, and both families have thoroughly enjoyed themselves with them.

I spent a little more on this set because it will be used in our summer Child Care program. The first mallet broke the first time it was used, despite the fact that the child's pressure was a little too strong. The second one, on the other hand, broke in the same way as the first, with regular pressure on the croquet ball. Because it appeared to have brass fittings/screws, I assumed this set would be more durable. in type. However, a closer examination reveals the following: Plastic appears to be the material of the screw. I'm not sure why these sets don't use dowel screws (which go into both ends of the wood). Today, I'm using Rhino Glue to try and fix it. The only way to know is to wait and see. I'm hoping the seller will contact me to see if the two mallets can be replaced instead of purchasing a new set.
I put in a lot of effort to make a decent living. This was something I wanted so that my family and I could play together. Both stakes cracked and fell apart in the first game we played, despite the fact that we were not rough with them. I don't believe in squandering $100 on inferior goods. It's clear that this company isn't concerned with quality and is only interested in our money. If you can't take more pride in the products you sell, you shouldn't be in business, to be honest. Take it how you want, but unless you enjoy wasting money, I strongly advise against purchasing this set.
The balls appeared to be in good condition, but the mallets lacked weight and appeared to be prone to breaking. br>br>I bought this because I wanted something at least slightly better than the worst set you can buy, but this set appears to be on par with the worst, making it the most expensive of the worst.
I was under the impression that I was purchasing a long-lasting set when I purchased this one. The blue mallet broke in half and the yellow ball cracked when I first used it! Before the first mallet broke, I had an old cheap set that I had for 15 years! Although the heavy mallets appear to be impressive, they are in fact broken.
The orange ball was broken as soon as the set arrived. I'm not sure how this happens, given that they're supposed to be able to withstand high impacts on a regular basis. I was hoping for wooden balls, but it appears that the interior is made of resin with a plastic shell. The rest of the set is lovely, but I'm worried about the balls' longevity.
Remember the old adage, "you get what you pay for," and this is a low-cost croquet set that is suitable for backyard BBQs or occasional use. Because any adult would have to bend over to use these short mallets, I believe the sizing is aimed more at children. I was very disappointed with the size of the wickets; they are very small and appeared to be much larger online; if I had seen the set in person, I would not have purchased it. As I previously stated, you get what you pay for, so for the low price, it's a good deal, and if you're not a serious croquet player, it'll probably suffice for family get-togethers - get-togethers and outings in the backyard Because of the size of the equipment, it is much better suited for children than for adults.
When our set arrived, we discovered that the two end stakes were missing, despite the overall good quality. One would think that obtaining replacements from Baden would be straightforward because, after all, who would try to wrest them from the two end stakes? Here's what they're looking for in order for us to get the stakes: br>br>1) Proof of Purchasebr>2) Pictures of What We Havebr>3) What We Needbr>4) Little white tag inside of bag numberbr>br>br>So we'll comply and hope for the best. br>br>.
I bought this for my husband for Father's Day, but he was dissatisfied. The ridges of the mallets have wood chips in them, giving them an unfinished appearance. The mallets have an uneven striking surface. After a few uses, the balls dent easily. It comes with a carrying bag, but you'll need to unscrew the mallett heads to get it into it. In the hopes that my husband would be satisfied with the quality, I decided not to buy the cheapest croquet set, which was $30. I paid more than $60 for it, and I was expecting more from a $30 set.
