On July 4th, there will be a generational dodgeball game. For a multi-player game, we bought two sets of the 7" balls. During our 4th of July BBQ, we had a generational dodgeball game. The participants ranged in age from eight to eighty years old. The balls were flawless and a huge hit (no tears, just smiles). Later that evening, the teenagers played a "big kid" game, and the balls performed admirably once again. There were a lot of hard body and head shots, but no one was hurt.
I'm a teacher, and every year at the start of the school year, I purchase a set of 6 Rhino skin ultra soft balls. In most cases, I'm left with only one option. 2 that don't rip or tear. Every day for about 30 minutes, we use these balls for a variety of games. For the 8, I usually purchase from Amazon for around $50. Balls of 5 inches I got these GoSports sets for less than half the price, but I was worried that at 7 inches, they would be too small. Not in the least! These are the perfect size, and while I can't speak to their durability just yet, so far they've performed admirably. The box was well-packaged, with a white mesh ball bag and a mini pump with needle included. They had considered every possibility!.
I was disappointed to receive these because a colleague had recommended them highly. The thickness and size of the product received were extremely inconsistent; the blue and purple balls were thicker, but the others inflated to a larger size and were noticeably thinner, particularly the yellow one. I bought these for my Physical Education students to play team handball with, but I'm going to have to return them because of the inconsistent quality. My colleague agreed that they were not of the same caliber as the ones he had received.
The fact that the set included a carry bag, a pump, and two needles was fantastic! It was a nice surprise to find a card with dodgeball rules inside, and the balls were simple to inflate and lasted through several rounds of play. If I had to criticize anything, it would be the soft covers, which make the balls a little difficult to grasp, but as long as they aren't over-stuffed, they are fine. It's nothing to be upset about, even if it is a little inflated. We'll only use them once or twice a month, so I expect these to last for years. As a budget option, I would strongly recommend these!.
So far, I've bought two of these and have found them to be excellent. br>br>In fact, I carried out a controlled experiment by purchasing a set of six Franklin Sports Playground Balls at the same time as the first six GoSports balls. They were all meant to be used for small-scale games. They've spent most of their time in the sun while floating in chlorinated water in our backyard pool in Southern California. br>br>These GoSports balls have kept their air, feel, and color for the past year. They are, in essence, brand new. The Franklin Sports balls have lost most of their color (fading from bright primary colors to pale pastels), are mostly bleached below the water line, and are cracked, with one of them no longer holding air. This is why I went out and purchased a second set of GoSports balls. br>br>These balls come highly recommended by me.
I bought a few of these and they've held up well so far. They are smaller and have a thinner profile than playground balls. They're easy to hold onto if you don't overinflate them, and my high school students enjoy throwing them at each other. br>br>There are warnings on the box about not kicking them, and I'm not sure they'd hold up well on a playground or outside, but we use them in a large carpeted room at the church and haven't had any problems with them breaking yet.
Why settle for one ball to throw at your kids when you can have a whole bunch? The rambunctious snotfaced cookie fiends who are laying siege to your peaceful afternoon will love this. Let the games begin! I placed the kids in the netted trampoline with the dodgeballs.
They're made of a lighter material than other playground balls, so they'd make a good dodgeball but probably wouldn't hold up as well as a kickball (I could see the ball getting tossed around if the wind was blowing). They do not hurt when hit, however, and are ideal for younger children. I bought them for a school, but they weren't going to work for the purpose I needed them for, so I decided to keep them for my children because I like them so much! I would have given them a higher rating if they hadn't shrunk to about 5 inches after a day or two of sitting in a box inflated (they hadn't been played with yet), so I'll most likely be returning them.
