The diameter of mine is 4 feet. There is an 8-inch difference in size. With an inch of clearance, it won't be a problem.

I installed this bar in the same way I did with the stand that came with it. It worked as expected and installed as I hoped. As long as the bottom straps are placed at the right place on your stand, it will do its job (really depends on where you put it on your stand). The piece of rope used to tie the bar to the tree was not my favorite, but I admit that it did the job as it should. I think it was an excellent value given both the price and the expected results.
It has a good finish, but it could have been better thought out even if it cost As well as the area where it mounts to the tree, and the rope they provide for attaching it, neither of these are particularly useful. The binding strap I used on mine featured metal hooks so that it could be attached to the tree using a binding strap. In addition, I drilled a hole through the nut where the screw is supposed to go to hold the length of your ladder to the tree, and then put a bolt through it to keep it from moving.
Although, it had to be cut down since it was too long. If the straightness of the bar isn't satisfactory, I wouldn't be able to hit the bolt in the hole.
Wasn't quite right for the application I had in mind. The shorter one I needed for higher up was not available. Possibly hitch clips are what I'd like to see. A bolt and nut I dropped never made it to the ground.
Braces (lost or damaged) on ladder stands need to be replaced.
The price is hard to beat, and the work is done well. One stand I salvaged had a broken bar, and one I bought for a stand I salvaged. It is much safer to use these stand now because they are both in use.
It might be better to make it I was very impressed with the speed at which it arrived. It is necessary to use metal or spikes to make the tree end stiffer.
The product works as described. I don't see how they can make a different design and keep it universal if these tend to slip on the ladder even if you crank it down all the way.
