Questions & Answers

Can this item be attached to a Remington 1911 R1?

There are people. Playing with Legos is not the point. With the appropriate modifications to the firearm and the beavertail, this item can be used with any 1911. - If you would like drop-off If you do so in parts, you'll need a Glock or AR-type weapon These are both great platforms for developers, and 90%+ of the work that's done on them is drop-in I can't begin to describe how different 1911s are from other cars. Whether you do the research and work on anything you get, or if you need someone to do the work for you, be prepared to use a smith.

The item can be used for the MIL- Can you tell me the specs for a 1911 Springfield Defender?

I found it perfectly suited to my needs! It's a great pleasure to have you.

It is designed for the 1911 GI made by American tactical imports. Will it fit that one?

There's no doubt the trigger group of 1911s is the same as it is on 1911s. I have only found one thing which needs to be modified, and that For some surfaces, you may need to sand or file the For me, 175" worked well) into the rear area that is concentric to the hole for the safety pin

How do I know if it will fit a 1911 45 Rock Island ?

A 1911 pistol built by Rock Island builds on Browning's design from 100 years ago, and is a good, reliable and no-frills weapon. It is a proven fact that parts do not drop into place as I have built dozens of these throughout the years In this frame, you can see "in". Having a Beaver Tail safety is a great upgrade, however you would have to clean up your frame to make it fit. A Wilson beaver tail with a larger relief around the pin hole is the perfect option for those who want a beaver tail but don't want to mess up their frames. The file will fit with only a little file work, but it's not as pretty.

That is one of the best upgrades I ever did to my 1911 Colt gold cup trophy! One of the most cherished things I own is my 1911 Colt Gold Cup Trophy Among my pistol collection, my favorite pistol is the M1 Garand
5/5

I have fully customized it to my liking, and it is reliable, accurate, and easy to use. But I wanted to get a better grip on the gun when I brought it up to shoot with a higher tang grip at the beavertail safety. Even after all the changes I have made to it, even after the OEM grip safety was too rattly and did not feel and look as good as I wanted it to. My solution was to order the WC 298S and 402 jig kit, assemble it myself, then gunsmith it onto the 1911. There is nothing I would change about how it functions or Among the positive effects of the 298 grip safety are the increased grip quality, improved engagement, and aesthetic appeal. As an additional note, this specific grip safety is designed to be used with It will not fit a because it has been cut along the frame tangs. It's a cut frame of 250 pieces. It is essential that you do your research before purchasing this and then writing bad reviews about how it doesn't fit.

There is a flaw in 1 of 2
4/5

As soon as I started installing the first one, it wouldn't sit flush. I'm glad I bought two of them. Here are some photos, they are a bit problematic to install, and it requires quite a bit of work to get them to fit in one piece. My first mistake was not reading this before I started. The web content is supposed to be good quality. It looks like an error from the factory, their QA should have caught it, and it shouldn't have been allowed to leave. The 2nd one fitted fine, but the #1 is going back to Wilson.

It's great that there is now a grip safety device
3/5

It was painful to have the fittings done. My name is Jeff, and I am in no way affiliated with a gunsmith in any way. have owned a number of 1911 style pistols as well as a range of other guns. In addition to a previous beaver-raised bed, I also installed a I was tailing. The sling I installed on it was brand new and straight out of the box, also from As I had done when I installed a beaver-tail a few weeks ago, I thought I might have to take a little material out of the frame I had never used a tail before on a series 70 Colt. Boy, was I ever glad that I did! Thanks a lot! It was a pleasure to work with Brownell's. Thanks for making such a simple little tool that fits into the pin hole to keep things safe. Getting the safety to line up properly required that I file off at least a quarter of an inch of the frame. It allowed me to grind it down quickly and without having to worry about taking off excess material, since I had Brownell's guide. It was necessary to hand file even more off the "horn" of the frame in order to make the new safety fit. A frame's radius is important to consider when making your decision when purchasing an aftermarket frame Beavers of the market place- I was tailing. It is best to have a gunsmith install it for you if you do not know which one you need. In order for the hammer spur to clear the new safety, I had to bob it a bit. It was impossible for the gun to lock into the cocked position because the spur on the hammer would push As part of the installation, I plan on installing a skeleton-based computer I plan on making an electronic hammer in the future, so I was not concerned about this. This flow of the fit from the frame, just below the slides, to the new safety isn't as good as it could be. It looks as though someone just added an afterthought to this. The piece on the gun is a market piece. It is important to look good and to function well for me when it comes to guns. I have some OCD issues when it comes to aesthetics. It falls below )I will get my files out again soon so I can smooth out the lines. I will repeat myself here and say that Taking on this challenge was extremely challenging As a result, I am happy with the results. After I put the gun back together, everything is working properly. Getting some help with re-configuration was a task I needed to delegate to a friend I'm installing the sear and disconnecting the gun. There is a piece in there I hadn't removed before that keeps the gun from discharging if it falls. That's not at all what the beaver had to do with it- I was tailing. Anyway, this beaver tail MAY just drop in and work as a replacement for YOUR gun, depending on the make and model, but based on everything I have seen on YouTube and other forums, it seems that it will at least require some slight I wish you the best of.

This is fantastic! It is a wonderful The 1911 I used for my first PSA build is a virgin There were obviously issues with the tangs, then the hammer radius and grip line lines had to be aligned
5/5

I had to file the hammer bow stop/release in order to provide me with sufficient LOP (length of pull) to engage the disconnector/sear. The trigger safety is filed at a slight upward angle, as well, so that there is no "grind" when the safety is let off before you press There was a lot of sanding to do. After 120 grit, I moved to 240, to 320, 400, 600, 1000, then 2000 grit with a dremel wheel and flitz polish. I love the way it turned out! However, the sides rub a small amount on the inside of the frame and damage the polish, but I am not bothered by this fact.

It is important to know what to do and this is good
5/5

This is the perfect beaver tail for a matching fitting jig. A 1911 is not a Glock parts don't just click into place. You will need to fit the part. In the event that you cannot fit this part, don't blame the part, find a gunsmith who can do it. As soon as you put this part in, it feels beautiful in your hands.

Ensures good safety when using the beavertail grip
5/5

My personal opinion is that a beaver tail grip safety is essential since it protects against 1911 thumb web bites. They can be quite distracting. If you want one with positive web grip, be SURE to purchase one with that Having this feature on in times of need will ensure that the safety is disabled without a doubt.

A number of Wilson's 1911 products are excellent aftermarket A Wilson 1911 product is not a direct drop-in for a Remington R1 1911, though they do make some fine aftermarket 1911 products
3/5

A gunsmithing bill of more than $200 to make it fit was way too much to afford. I should have purchased a 1911 with all the bells and whistles already installed rather than trying to modify.

You've done a fantastic job

The frame of a Rock Island will need to be modified. Unless you're VERY proficient with a file and fitting gun parts, order the Wilson combat filing jig from amazon. com.
