I placed an order for one for the Glock 19 and another for the Glock 43x. The granulated version is fantastic, but it's not suitable for EDC because it tears your holster, shirt, and belt, not to mention rubbing on your skin and causing bleeding, as it did for me. The rubber version looks cool, but it doesn't provide any additional traction on the gun in my opinion. I believe the rubber grip version of the gun has less traction than the stock version, particularly when your hands are sweaty. When wet or dry, the stock grip provides a more stable grip.
I love Talon Grips and have them on several of my handguns, but I almost didn't like my Glock 48 when I first got it. The grip texture was not aggressive enough, and the grip was almost too thin. I tried a grip sleeve and didn't care for it. I ordered some Talon Grips for it, and now my Glock 48 is perfect, with a rubber textured grip that I really like. However, the grip gives me a firm grip on my handgun by adding a small amount of extra width to the grip. If the stock grip on your Glock 43 or 48 isn't aggressive enough for you, invest in some Talon Grips. You won't be disappointed.
I had a Hogue sleeve for my 43x before, but I didn't like how the grip changed the shape of the handle. I couldn't get through it because it was too thick. The 43x's bare grip (which is the same as the G48) had a better shape and feel to it. However, I felt like I needed a little more texture for better grip, and stippling was out. The grip on the 43x was almost perfect, but the pistol had a habit of slipping away from me. I didn't want to use an add-on grip because it would change the shape and size of the grip, so these Talon grips sat in my bin for a month. I finally decided to give them a shot, figuring that if I didn't like them, I could always remove them. br>br>Installation went much more smoothly than I expected, but I took extra precautions and **added one more step to the process**. Rather than peeling off the backing all at once, I used an exacto knife to carefully slice through it at three points so I could place the grip precisely as I wrapped it around. I didn't want to deal with the exposed adhesive until the section was ready to be worked on. I was able to place the left, back, right side, and front wraps one at a time, which I thought made my life easier because I didn't have to reposition anything and it fit perfectly the first time. br>br>One of my concerns was that I would feel the overlap area because the rubberized grip itself (without the backing) is very thin. My concern was unwarranted because the actual rubberized grip itself (without the backing) is very thin. As a result, neither the girth nor the overlap have increased for me. However, as a righty, the overlap is at a point where my fingers do not touch the grip when starting from the left side and ending on the left side. If you're a lefty, start on the right side so the overlap is on the right side; it's not a big deal, but it's worth noting. br>br>The extra texture of this grip adds a layer of security, which I'm sure will be especially useful in humid or sweaty conditions. I'm so glad I put them on, even though I was hesitant to do so. They provide all of the benefits I was looking for, and all of my concerns were unfounded. Anyone who simply wants a more secure grip should consider these.
On my 43X, it's been installed. Installation instructions were followed to the letter (including multiple heating cycles). Used in conjunction with Q- Minimalist holster from the Stealth series. For a single day, I wore my IWB. Near the top, both sides of the grip have been pushed up. It's not a major issue. The rest of the grip is undamaged; I know the instructions say no trimming is required, but I'm either going to trim or removing the Talon grip entirely and stippling like my 43.
The Talon grip for the Glock 43x was excellent; it was simple to install and looks and feels fantastic; however, I'm not sure why it cost $5. 00 more than any other Talon grip, and $17 for the one I bought for my G19. Amazon charges $95 for this book. If I find something cheaper elsewhere, I will shop instead of using Amazon the next time. Beware of the Buyer!.
Take your time and pay attention to what's being said. Applying the product and setting it with a hot hair dryer takes about 30 minutes. This step is important because it conforms the grips to the gun's grip. I immediately took the gun to the range and discovered that the grip added a lot of comfort; it wasn't overly thick, but it was thick enough to provide more tacky traction. I've used the sand paper style for other guns and found them to be a little too abrasive on my hands, but these are perfect, and I've decided to get them for all of my other guns as well.
Over the last few years, I've used Talon grips on all of my Glocks. Because it was prone to rubbing against the skin, I found the granular wrap to be too aggressive for everyday use for concealed carry. The rubber grip, on the other hand, is tacky enough for summer months to keep the gun from slipping in your hand after long range sessions. I like how simple it is to install, and I haven't had any issues with the grips loosening or peeling off after using the heat gun or hair dryer. They come highly recommended.
This grip is ideal for me because I keep my hands moisturized. even if you're a person with sweaty palms. I also purchased the rubber because I have an appendix and was worried about Granulated aggravating my skin. Nope - If everything is set up correctly, you won't even notice you have the grip until you touch the gun. br>Be aware that the rubber grip is slick. not supple enough After dry fitting and figuring out how it wraps around, application was a breeze. They claim to have used a heating gun, but they didn't. With a razor, I trimmed a few spots here and there. Nothing major has happened. Thank you very much.
