Questions & Answers

Can you store a small bottle of Hoppe's oil in the "Den"?

As long as the den stays clean from my pack, the snake is safe from debris or dirt. The bristles are also less likely to flatten if the brush is gently pressed. I constructed a dozen small canvas pouches by filling each one with a pack of cards There is a small bottle of lube, a small punch tool, and a plastic pry tool inside two dens of different calibers. I then use one bag in my bugout bag, my range bag, my truck, etc. It beats just not cleaning your gun and it's unnecessary to perform a more intensive service every now and then. Other benefits of snakes that you might not be aware of until you have used them is that the handle reduces the amount of effort it takes to pull the snake through the action at the thickest part.

Could you please tell me if it's the one with What's the deal?

when you close the lid of the "den," you can use it as a T-shirt holder My opinion, however, is that it's not really needed

Is it possible to use the 22 caliber for a 25?

It seems to me that the is true. The 22 is to be used by It works as well with 223 also, but only if you use it with Due to the looser fit of size 25, it's unlikely it'd scrub well.

In this case, it's the 9mm. Is it correct that the grommet of the 357 boresnake has "35" stamped on it?

The answer is yes.

The bore snakes sold by Hopp's set the standard I've experienced the cheaper ones that many people think are the same as these name brands
4/5

I believe that these are of a much better quality, so I do not feel this way. I will simply pay the small difference and get Hoppes instead. In addition, the "den" is a nice bonus, and looks great hanging from my cork board.

Definitely recommend these for their overall quality, and the fact that they can be cleaned again and again without wear and tear. concentrate heavily on reviews when making my purchases, and as a result I always research everything I purchase on Amazon, both for personal and business use, so I can help other people who might be considering that product. You cannot get anything for free when cleaning a firearm

The fact that we have seen advertisements for Boresnake and its imitations for quite some time now, and viewed all kinds of testimonials and manufacturer videos, lead us to remaining skeptical. Can the Boresnake be used multiple times, or do we need to discard it after one use, as we would with In addition, it doesn't say that pre-approval is required As Hoppe's CLP and Boresnake clean the bore in preparation for use, it appears that is all that is As skeptics, we decided to put the Boresnake to the test, and we did so exactly as Hoppe showed us in his on-line video. The videos are in line format. Hoppe's Boresnake, shown here, arrived packed in its snake den - the product shown here comes in a large plastic bag. The lid of the box doubles as a handle to pull the box containing the snake. A bore snake can be described as a - I have one for 9 mm, so this is specific. The number 357 is an integer. A special edition of 380 and 38 is available. A S&W barrel is shown in the image The W & M I just fired 40 rounds of Hornady 90-grain ammo into the P 380 Shield EZ just off the range A grain of XTP ammunition. We sprayed the inside of the barrel with CLP, then prepared the snake with CLP as illustrated in the videos, fed the lead through the barrel's breech end, attached the pull handle to the lead, then pulled the snake through. A shot of the barrel holding it up to the light afterwards revealed it to be clean and shiny inside. We repeated the cleaning as a precaution. Once the traditional cleaning tools had been used, we went back to work We have Hoppe's #9 solvent, Hoppe's gun oil, brushes, patches, and an air gun. It is noteworthy that the first patch, which was soaked in solvent #9, came out of the bore looking almost as if it had not been cleaned previously You can see the pictures below. I continued to clean the patches as normal using the tools listed above until each patch was This is what our conclusions are It is possible to appear as if a bore is clean when using a Boresnake. As seen from off in the While the Boresnake was effective enough for some to use, it definitely wasn't clean in the usual sense of the word. A bore light inspected after the Snake Bite and again after traditional cleaning revealed the Boresnake's limitations. How about cleaning our range after we use it on our next trip? If we use our snake again, should we wash it between uses, or should we simply drag the filth from previous uses through the bore? Considering the cost of the rattlesnake with den, we feel that it would be more prudent to spend the twenty dollars on oil, solvent, patches, etc. An elbow grease and a little bit of work.

My 9mm handgun was able to use it with no problem
5/5

The purpose of this review is to assess the performance of the 9mm Hoppe's Bore Snake Pistol and Revolver Bore Cleaner part 24002. You can find us at 357, There are three numbers in this phrase. It has a 38-cal. bullet. This bore snake weighs 41 pounds and measures 54 inches long. The 9mm handgun I planned to use this with is based on this product. A length of 30 inches is required for the string and weight alone. It is generally the case that these calibers are used in handguns, however there are even longer firearms that rely on them, and this is sufficient for both. Embedded right in the thicker rope is the metal brush. Just drop the weight into the bore snake barrel and pull the rest through, leaving no guesswork behind. If you want to use this, then it is probably best to soak the barrel in a carbon removing solution for a couple minutes before use. As you clean the carbon out with the brush, the rope takes care of the rest. After a while, you could probably clean it by hand with a little soap and water when the carbon builds With the Hoppe's brand I have always had good luck. They have been around for a long time and their products always seem to be of good quality. Additionally, they have some great synthetics and oils and pretty much any other solution you may need for cleaning a gun. There are a few tools like this that make cleaning a gun seem more enjoyable, such as this one. Now, I can even remove the large rods with the metal brushes without having to remove the large rods. The bore snake makes it much easier to clean your gun. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to reduce the time spent cleaning their guns. I give it a 5 star rating without hesitation.

The one in the photo isn't the one in reality
3/5

While I haven't had a chance to use this snake, I imagine it will work well. However, I was initially annoyed by the fact that when I first looked at the snake, it said there was a newer version available, so I were tempted to look at it and to order it. The snake I ordered was not the newer model snake shown in the picture, it was the original version I looked at first. Moreover, I had expected Hoppe's to be an American-made product, but I see that it now comes from Mexico. For me, this is the end of Hoppe's.

I still received the correct snake even though it was not as pictured (but it was a better snake than pictured)
4/5

A BoreSnake from Hoppe's with a den is a high quality product. I appreciate the capability of storing the hard bristles in the den. As I have researched, I am certain that I received the correct and current version of the caliber I ordered, however, as others have mentioned, the photograph appears to be incorrect. In the stock image I believe there is a shotgun (large bore) with a fuzz ball and rope with multiple colors. Though I think the fuzz ball would be a good idea for all bore sizes and calibers, it was probably not practical to make it in.

This is a great tool for quick cleaning
5/5

There is nothing better than a snake! My cleaning kit was lacking this item, so I acquired it to fill that gap. Boresnakes have been my usual quick cleaning tool when I don't want to pull out the full kit and just want to do a quick clean, such as between rounds while shooting with friends or family. They seem to provide a tight fit, and while I don't think it is a complete substitute for a complete cleaning, I do think it does a great job of pulling dirt out of the gun through the breech. Even part of my daily chores, I keep it in mind.
