The purpose of this product is to tighten optic mounting rings and M-mounting rings A torque of 28 Nm is required for LOK mounting. I honestly think it's one of the best I've ever seen This tool helps you find things. You can get it in a semi-solid form It has a rigid nylon case with a zipper closure and comes with the torque driver as well as a bit set and a "force assist driver" (which is a small screwdriver that gives you additional leverage and control when you are loosening or tightening screws). I really love the ergonomics of this driver With its grippy rubberized body, you can dial up and down the torque with the hefty control wheel and get a satisfying click each time the quantity is increased or decreased by 1 inch/pound. There is an issue with the zeroing of the tool. In both the advertising material and the documentation it states that the torque can be adjusted to between 10 and 70 inch/pounds, but my control wheel hard-stops at 4. Do I need to set a minimum of 10 inch/pounds with a misaligned dial to use mine? What does this mean? Does it mean that my minimum setting is 14 inches/pounds? Is there any reason why you shouldn't refer to the scale window?" The question is posed to you. The idea is brilliant. It would be natural to EXPECT that a torque driver which can be adjusted in 1 inch/pound increments would have a hairline indicator so that you can know exactly how much torque you are applying. Not at all Rather than providing a precise setting, this one gives you a chunky, imprecise red rectangle encompassing multiple settings, so your actual setting will be plus or minus up to four inches/pounds. Essentially, this makes it useless for what it is supposed to do In the case where I cannot be sure of the torque setting, I will not risk using the tool for mounting tightening. Real Avid's products have always been my favorites, and I really desired to be a fan of I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend this product The book will be returned to me.
A great product that comes in a handy case that makes it easy to keep organized. The instructions are simple to read and understand. My entire stock of rifles was torque checked immediately after buying this device. Having my hands tight plus a few isn't accurate, as I learned.
I have had very good dealings with the company so far and they have replaced parts from their cleaning kits for free, even when small screws were missing.
It was great the first few times I used it, but the next time it became stuck on a setting, I was unable to reset it.
An electric torque wrench capable of going lower than 10 was necessary. In order to access this one, turn the dial from 10 backwards. Other gunsmith tools may do that, but REAL AVID is one of the names I trust for gunsmithing The "click" that occurs when it reaches the set value is very audible. Furthermore, it is a good tool for torquing electrical lugs and other maintenance operations.
It is one of those products that is really better than you expect. Solid and well engineered, this product is outstanding. This program has high accuracy and is incredibly An excellent value at this price!! Nice carry case and overall a good value!.
Overall, it is a good tool, and it works well. A bit of quality concern, rounded to the nearest tenth If you tighten the bolt to 32 lbs, tighten it 10 bits. The problem can be easily fixed with quality tools such as Milwaukee, Bosch, etc.
In order to perform some minor gunsmithing and install a scope properly, I purchased this item. I would first like to point out that it feels like a quality product. It does not remind me of harbor freight tools or any other types of junk. There are many scope installation bits included in the case, and they can be used for many scope installations. It is nice to have the inchlbs adjustment since it's really smooth and easy. I like it more than other options because you can adjust in 1in lbs It is set to 10in lbs at the lowest setting. After using it a few times, I discovered that it is perfectly reliable. It seems folks have criticized these sub $100 torque devices after checking the torque against lab equipment and finding it is not exact. That's just stupid, because this is not a precision instrument, if you want that spend the serious $500+ along with a weekly calibration and you will be fine. Given its price point, it's just fine in terms of function.
The directions were a little vague regarding setting the torque lbs. You simply keep turning it until you see the red line of the correct 10 denomination in the window and adjust incrementally with the 1-inch knob. On the dial, there are 9 digits.
