Questions & Answers

What is the difference between the two dies? I'm new to reloading and don't know what to look for. Starting from the left and working your way right?

The Resizing Die on the left is an example. It returns the fired brass to its original dimensions by compressing it. If you don't lube the brass first, it will jam inside the die, and you'll have to buy a brass extractor to get it out. The fired primer is pushed out by a pin that protrudes from the bottom. Bullet Seater is the one on the right. The top screw thread is set to the correct depth to seat the slug. br>Which is usually the crimp ring of the slug at the mouth opening of the case. Two more dies are required.br> The powder die is used to funnel propellant into the brass, while the Crimper Die is used to squeeze the brass opening around the crimp ring on the slugs. br>I strongly advise you to buy RELOADING MANUAL 14 by Speer bullets from your local gun store. Before you start reloading, it will tell you almost everything you need to know about it. br>I've been reloading since 1979 and continue to learn new techniques.

Is it a carbide button on the expander ball?

You can do without carbide if you clean the inside of the brass and lightly lubricate it before doing your full-scale work. Keep the brass and the expander ball clean and lubricated, and it should work fine.

Will this set of dies work for reloading 6? How many Creedmoors do you have?

You must pick the number six. Creedmoor has the option to reload five times. Creedmoor is ranked 5th in the United Kingdom. To reload ammunition, you'll need a press, a powder scale, and a variety of other tools.

Is it necessary for me to use a crimp die?

I compete in shooting, and I have a lot of fun with it. I'm used to seeing 4 inch moa at 100 yards. Crimping is not something I do.

These can be used to load bolts or autoloaders
5/5

They are capable of handling any situation. My only criticism of this set is that it lacks an Allen key for tightening the set screw in the locking ring. Should it be done? Not likely. This set, unlike many of my other RCBS sets, did not. In any case, they're fantastic. Full length size, roll crimp, taper crimp, seat bullets, and decap/deprime casings are exactly what you're looking for. They are outstanding. br>br>I'm loading for my Scar 17s, which is a self-loading machine. For auto loaders, you'll usually want to use "small base" dies, but if you full length size your brass, you can use these regular dies, as stated in the set's instructions. Anyway, they're a must-have, and I adore them because they work. In fact, I have an identical set that got dry over the winter and began to surface rust due to my poor storage placement, so instead of cleaning them, I just bought another set so I could start loading right away!.

These are the best; I wish I could get good results from Lee dies, but when you run 150 bottle neck rifle cases through Lee dies and 20-inch rifle cases through Lee dies, you're going to need a lot of them
5/5

Although 25 don't pass a standard ammo checker, the dies show that they are more accurate in sizing. I only had to run the failed brass through these RCBS dies once, and it passed my ammo size check. RCBS has given me a fix. No matter how many times I ran them through the Lee dies, Lee couldn't get the 308 and 7mm rem mag brass right. RCBS is one of my favorite companies because of its high quality and precision. When it comes to dies, you get what you pay for.

So far, the product has been of excellent quality
4/5

This set is for resizing the entire length of your garment. It can be used in auto loaders and pumps as a result of this. If you only measure the circumference of your neck, the casing will be tailored to fit your rifle. Chapter 2 page 25 of Richard Lee's Modern Reloading 2nd edition. The excerpt from the book that covers the two resizing options is shown in the photo.

Excellent product
5/5

but- The quality of RCBS products is consistently high. I've been using their products for forty years and have a few suggestions. Remove the brass setscrew, drop in a no. 8 shot pellet, and replace the screw, or use a slice of lead off to reduce the risk of damaging the threads on the dies. 22 rounds of ammunition In addition, you must bring your own T-shirt. This is worth ten wrenches. Would it really be that difficult for RCBS to just include one with each die set? In the last couple of years, I've bought three sets, none of which came with a case. Sheesh . I used one that came with a set of scope rings that cost me ten dollars. Aside from that, any RCBS die is a safe bet.

Wrong! The image and what I got are not the same
3/5

I believe the advertisement is incorrect because it depicts a competition set when you actually receive a FL sizing set.

As usual, excellent
5/5

I have about ten RCBS die sets in various calibers, some of which were passed down from my grandfather who purchased them in the 1960s. They're all from the 1970s and they're still in perfect working order. A word of caution: you must use a high-quality case lubricant or you will get a case stuck in the sizing die. This is true for all brands of dies. If this occurs, it is not the end of the world; simply search YouTube for instructions on how to free a stuck case from the sizing die. I used the drill and tap method, which worked wonderfully. Good luck, have a good time, and keep your sights on the target!.

The die is fantastic, and changing the OAL is a breeze thanks to the calibration reference numbers
4/5

The bullet seating die is excellent, and changing the OAL is simple thanks to the calibration reference numbers. Unlike the others I have that require a "by guess and by golly" approach, the numbers don't reflect the length being used, but rather a reference number. I'll give it a shot. br>br>A different story is the Full Length resizing die. My first attempt to set the die resulted in the head of the brass seating screw stripping. Pain!.

Work, work, work, work, work, work, work, work, work, work I'm a huge Lee fan, but when it comes to resizing hard brass like Lake City, I'm not so sure
5/5

Lee will not accept 308 brass. The RCBS resize die set performed flawlessly right out of the box. I'd be tempted to switch everything to RCBS if I didn't already own so much Lee gear. Look past the price if you're just getting started with reloading. Obtain the most effective.
