If you like to stay with the more complex types of tasks, this manual will be useful to you
4/5

There is good information in this book if you like more traditional powders, but it lacks most of the new powders in the calibers that I load for, and the weight of the bullet seems to be lacking for many different bullet types, so a lot of information is left out. Are there any implications of this? It is true that a lot of loading manuals follow this format, but in reloading, so much has changed that manuals are struggling to keep up with the changes. I recommend that you acquire several reloading manuals that are not necessarily specific to a particular bullet or powder manufacturer because most of them are limited to the information that applies to only the products that they manufacture, which is fine if they are the only ones you The same cannot be said for all of them. I suggest that you carefully examine the information that each one offers to determine if it is relevant to the kind of reloading you do. There are many companies that have reloading*products on the market that spend a lot of money to develop this information at a very reasonable price for us, so we can pick the ones that work best for.

It's always good to keep a manual on hand
5/5

It has been 42 years since I started handloading ammo and my bench always has an updated Lyman manual nearby. What's the reason? It is Lyman's manual that includes loads for cast lead bullets in an area many others Lymans, including this one, have recently been printed on large sheets of paper, 8 1/2 x 11 inches. Using orange to highlight the maximum loads in every caliber ensures there will be little chance of misinterpreting result I reload a favorite caliber of rifle for . I reload . 30-06 rifle calibers. Contains 12 jacketed bullet loads and 7 cast lead bullet loads for the 308 Winchester. You can find in. A sample powder load for a 45 Auto using some 200 grain cast SWCs can be found in the manual. On pages 12 through 85, the new reloaded is walked through the entire process using photos in large color and information that is very specific. These chapters are always a good read for me because there is often some new detail that I pick up that I have not been aware of before. In addition to the , the new calibers listed were There have been 300 blackouts since the start of December. Two Norma prints on 5 x 284 paper, and one on 6 x 284 paper. In addition to Grendel, there are several Overall, it's an essential tool for anyone working at a reloading bench to have the 50th Lyman Reloading Handbook. The guide is full of great, important information, and as ever, it offers outstanding value.

Fewer loads for existing calibers and 1 or 2 new loads 3 or 4 new loads
3/5

As each edition comes out, less and less data is useful. There are three 47's left. I have the 48's, the 49's, and the 50's. There are fewer loads in each edition than in Only a few new rounds have been included in the latest release, but common ones like the 9mm have been fewer with There has been a surge in popularity of 9mm 135gr loads for action shooting games in recent years There's no mention of it. The reference still holds up for me, but if they release a 51st edition, I won't buy it unless it has new information on loads from the past. The number of bullets and powders in circulation is constantly changing, and adding two powders and two calibers does not constitute a new edition, especially when additional information has been omitted. It's time to get it together again,.

The new edition is less useful than the previous edition
3/5

Data on common loads is not available. There are enough reloading diagrams and instructions for a new reloader at the beginning of the book. However, it lacks enough data about highly common loading scenarios that may be of interest to the newer reloader. Also, it is hard to find some of the newest powders for some of the more-common loads. Here are a few I am missing the 158 gr Cast Data for the 357 magnum. I am also missing the 55 GrFMJ data for the 55". The percent of 5 is 223 out of 223 There are no 124Gr or 147Gr RN data for 9mm for the majority of the casts, and no non-Lyman molds are included in the majority of the casts. There are two types of common molds in Lyman. The book contains few more popular molds (such as Lee) than usually is included in Lyman books, but for the price, it should have included some more common molds. The book is not recommended for reloaders who are new to the sport or those looking for more common loading information.

Reloading manual that is among best Lee Precision Modern Reloading 2nd Edition, which came with my classic turret press kit, and this book are both books that I have read
5/5

The two references are great for a loader who is just starting out. A detailed history of each cartridge is recorded in this version of Lyman. Each method is very intriguing to me when I read how and why they were Also, there is a vast amount of detailed information available to I am able to make an educated decision on what loading is right for me. You can read this to relieve some tension instead of watching whatever is on television.

Lyman manuals have always struck me as attractive because they record the pressure of their products
4/5

The Lyman manuals have always been my favorite because the pressures they record for their loads are usually recorded in most combinations of powder and bullet As a consequence, I always purchase the latest manual whenever I download it, knowing that it will offer the best powders and bullets for each new caliber (even if I do not own such a caliber). includes more information about cast bullets than any other manual (one of the most accurate load lists only Ken Waters did for years in "Pet Loads") and also lists the most accurate loads for nearly all of the calibers covered. Using Lyman's manual for my initial assembly may not be the first resource I turn to, but it will certainly be the first manual I "double check" before pouring my first grain of powder.

It's a great piece of A cast bullet is included here
4/5

There are loose pages in this soft cover book because of poor bindings. In this manual, there is a great deal of diversity of content. Besides Lyman reloading equipment, there is no preference for any other brand, but the selection of powders and bullets covers all the powder manufacturers and bullet manufacturers that commonly exist A section of the handbook deals with cast bullets. Only thing I'm not happy with is that the pages are coming loose from the binding of the The upside is I can copy a page I go to frequently and pin it up on my shelf for easy access. My soft cover book falls apart so easily that I am sure the hard cover book wouldn't.

How you try to accomplish it is dependent on your intent
4/5

If you need details about reloading a wide array of different ammunition, this is a great tool to have. It is still useful if you are trying to learn what reloading entails, but it might not be the best tool for you. There is all the information, but it is written around assumptions that are based on existing knowledge, so clouds of information may be confusing. There are a lot of terms in this book, so if you are able to look back every time you read it, it is great. However, if you were willing to take the time to learn from the web, you would have already done so.
