Questions & Answers

Is there any other mixture (like the one in the bag) that I can use with this tumbler set?

As far as I can tell, I've only used the corn cob mixture along with a bit of brass polish that's provided in the kit. That works well for me.

The stainless steel media in this tumbler can you use?

This is not my area of expertise. The most common type of shell is a nut shell. The corn cob can be used as a The brass containing the cartridges is cleaned when they are

It appeared on your site in 8/2017 for $28 and not 48 dollars. Could you please update the price I purchased this item for? Would you mind if I apologize?

It was 48 when I took it.

If you fill up the brass all the way with new melea, how long does it take to clean it?

Whether the brass needs to be cleaned and tarnished depends on how dirty and tarnished it The usual rule of thumb is that cleaning takes a day A brass object that is in good condition could take 3 hours to polish.

This tumbler is one of the best that you can buy
3/5

You are not getting a great deal on the kit. I give it five stars because it's an excellent tumbler. However, I am concerned that this kit in total is not such a great value, and that is the reason I am writing this article. You can purchase the Frankford Arsenal tumbler alone here at Amazon for just a hair under half the price of the entire To begin, let me review This model is large and has a nice Over the course of many hours, it will not move at all, even if it is perfectly isolated from vibrations. As it has an unanticipated convenience, such as an open lid, it saves you from having to stop the machine and open the lid, meaning it can be inspected while still operating. Quite a bit of quiet at the moment. When you don't overload it or not screw the lid down tightly enough to fully engage it (four turns with a hand tool from the time the washer contacts the wingnut). The good news is that's all. Despite the bad news, there is good news as well. Just buy other components that have an equal or higher effectiveness for a much cheaper price than the items in the kit. There's a better way to do things, and it's as follows I'm sorry,

To remove the citrus odor from your car, use Nu Finish car polish instead The brass polish in the kit smells good. As for the citrus smell, it is nice. You might also ask yourself how many halves are in it. You have an abundance of empty bottles of cheap car polish Most likely, they'll work fine as well. I'm sorry,

In place of the corncob media in this kit, you may purchase crushed walnut lizard terrarium bedding here on Amazon. This pet bedding idea has been discussed over and over again in the various amazon tumbler reviews, and it is an excellent option that is much cheaper than a pet bed. It shouldn't be hard to find tumbler manufacturers who will sell you one. Tumbling media made of walnut. It is important not to overlook As part of this kit, you will receive corncob media that is subject to static electricity. As a result, it will spread throughout According to our research, walnut material appears to not have this problem. I'm sorry,

With a standard 5-ring separator you can construct your own separator There's a gold pail and a four-gallon bucket A pan with 1/8" mesh is ideal for sifting materials. Also on Amazon you can find the sifting pan and if you don't already own a 5-quart pot you can purchase one for $29. Rather than putting up with a bucket in your garage, you can find one cheap at your local big-box store It costs less than $5 at your local big box home improvement store. There is a bucket with a lid in the Frankford kit, but the blasted lid is useless because you more or less permanently attach separator guides to it so the separator can spin. If you want to attach the lid, you have to pull off the guide. As I said, the tumbler itself is very good, and you can afford to get it for a much lower price if you buy it alone. It is an "ok" kit, but you will rapidly upgrade your kit once you have gained some experience Experience is the best teacher. Investing a little less in better equipment and spending less money the first time around will be a wise choice.

As far as I can tell, I have the same I love how quiet this thing is with all the nuts and bolts When you polish brass, it comes out cleaner than you can clean a criminal record
5/5

However, if you do not shake the brass polish, the good stuff settles at the bottom and you end up squirting fluid into your media that looks like (ooops)*anyway, the media that comes with it is decent, but if you let it go dirty, it will plug up a flash hole, leaving you looking foolish as you try to play the It is designed for use with 300-won-magnum magazines. It works, that's the bottom line. This thing is on for hours at a time, usually about 10 hours a week, and I have had no problems with it in roughly four months. I can't think of a single issue. I have updated The good times are still rolling. It has probably been run over 100 times without incident. The separator is a little messy, but I don't mind. Who knows why earwigs are attracted to walnut media in the first place? Would anyone be able to comment on this? In any case. My guess is that going on for a long time will be about the only thing that will break this thing.

The features of a good unit are The only problem is that it is noisy
4/5

There is nothing bad to say about this Putting it together and using it should not be too difficult. It is convenient to remove brass after it has been cleaned using a bucket and screen. The problem is that I have two. It tells you to put the disc on a concrete surface first- The shop floor is what I mean by that. A bit of a hassle. The second problem is that it is very There is so much noise in the room that you cannot even be in the same room as As such, you must leave it running on the background while you are away. To completely clean brass, you have to run it for three to four hours. I wouldn't have the energy to put that into my schedule. After about one hour or 90 minutes, the outside of the brass is pretty well cleaned. In my opinion, that's enough. It is, however, a good device for the most part.

Making a good job of it There is however a very small capacity for this and it takes a very long time to clean
4/5

While it works well, it takes much longer than what you are led to believe from YouTube After I picked up some 30/06 brass from a shooting range that was really dirty, I had to clean it with crushed corn cob and shining liquid for more than eight hours. With crushed walnuts, it took about the same amount of time to buff up the 45ACP bass rifle in two hours. I was pleased with the kit, but with very dirty brass it is best to use the Lee shell holder unit fitting an electric drill and buff each shell individually Since I just ordered the device from Lee, I have not completed the process yet. While I understand it will be time consuming, if we do nothing, it will be easier than nothing at all. Your dies last longer if brass is clean, and they perform better over time.

The price is well worth it
5/5

Despite the high price, I believe it may be a good deal Some people may think that something so reasonably priced cannot be worth it, but is it really? The real deal here is this kit, and I'm among the first to say so. did not expect much for the price I paid, but I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least. * The tumbler does an excellent job, I have tumbled both empty and loaded cases. It would have been expected that both would come out the way they did. It's convenient to have the lid clear while it's in operation, so I can check the brass on the inside. As I continue to use the corncob media that came with my kit, once I wear it out I'll switch to walnut lizard bedding, which you can purchase at most pet stores for a fraction of the price of the My media have held up well, though I do clean my brass in an ultrasonic cleaner before I tumble. This greatly reduces the time it takes to tumble. br>I really like the separator, it's perfect for clearing out the media from hollow point bullets and cases. It makes the whole process faster and cleaner because the bucket collects the media. I have updated The machine is extremely quiet, and everyone marvels at how well it works. I will have to take their word for it since I have no experience with any other tumbler. As well as dampening the noise of the tumbler by using 1/2" vinyl tubing over the threaded metal rod that runs up through the middle of it, I used a phenolic compound to block the light. The rod at the bottom of the screw has a square nut, so I used 1/2" threaded The tube was heated so that it was pliable and then forced over the nut. I let it cool while holding the tube in position. My tumbler is now quieter because the brass isn't vibrating against the rod as it vibrated before.
