Polyethylene or any type of closed cell foam (including Kaisen) are not the culprits. Thank you very much for duping me into purchasing this. It's open cell foam for the rest of us. To be fair, it is made up of five layers, all of which are open cell (soft) foam. A 1/2" layer, a 2" layer, another 2" layer, a 1" layer in the lid, and another 1/2" layer on top of that are all visible from the bottom to the top.
My case was filled with spongy foam, so I'm not sure if they're sending different products to different people or if there are fake responses on here. It comes in five layers. Kaizen foam is not closed cell. Spongy.
Since it has seals and is similar to its breathten pelican cases, I'd say yes. When it's full, it should float. We used to drop pelican cases from helicopters, c130s, and other aircraft to deliver gear or store it even underwater for gear cashes in the military. If I had to guess, I'd say yes.
It should fit my AB110 338 Lapua without issue.

This V800 is one of my favorites. For my Ruger Precision, this is the ideal size. 338 Lapua is a city in the Italian province of Lapua. This item is extremely durable. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: I ended up buying a second V800 to store my AR15 and AR10. This case appeals to me greatly.
I have several Pelican cases, all of which I bought used due to Pelican's high price, but this one I bought new because it was finally at a price point I could afford. Unfortunately, there is bad news. Because it is a lower-quality case, it is less expensive. The plastic shell is very thin and flimsy, unlike the other pelican cases I own, which are much more expensive. The foam is fine, and the latches are fine, but this isn't what you'd expect from Pelican. Save your money and buy something else; this is a low-cost case that takes advantage of the Pelican brand. Pelican no longer holds the same esteem in my eyes as it once did.
What comes to mind when you hear the word Pelican? Typically, you think of cases that are tough, durable, and water/life-proof, and that come with a lifetime warranty: the kind that the military, emergency services, and others rely on, but which is frequently outlived. They are the pinnacle of storage for hard cases. br>br>At first glance, it appears that this case follows those rules. It appears tough, and anyone who has owned a Pelican knows what a fantastic product they produce. This isn't a Pelican situation, though. It has a pitiful one-year warranty (which is Pelican's way of saying they expect it to last a year), it's incredibly flimsy (sure, it's a big case, so some flex is to be expected, but this is far too much for comfort; I half expected the lid to make that "wooshing" sound thin metal makes when bent back and forth), and it gives you little confidence in the case. It's the same as Lamborghini selling a Ford Pinto. It's ultimately damaging to the brand (see some of the other reviews here about how Pelican is no longer the same; Sure, you can buy their actual cases instead of their "vault" cases, but many people won't realize that and will assume Pelican cut corners) and I'm kicking myself for buying them. If you want the truly rugged, dependable quality that a brand like Pelican is known for, I recommend the Pelican 1750.
In preparation for a cross-country trip, I finally bought a pelican case to store my firearms. The country is on the move. My 30-inch MacBook Pro fit perfectly in the case. Ruger 10/22 Takedown, Remington 700 Long Action with MDT TAC21 Chassis, and Springfield XD-100 S, as well as related publications As one would expect from Pelican, the quality is excellent.
I own a 1750, and this appears to be a knock-off. Despite the fact that the size is ideal for two rifles with scopes.
This case is sturdy, and the clips are simple to use. It is also quite large. Love it. I believe it is well worth the money; I've been looking for a case that can accommodate two scoped rifles, and this is it. What I didn't like was the fact that I assumed Kaizen foam was standard in all new vault cases. That isn't the case. The foam in this case is regular, not pick and pluck foam. As a result, I can't give it a five. Now all I have to do is spend a little more money on custom cut high density for my two scoped rifles. If you do buy one, make sure it says kaizen foam on it.
It is without a doubt the best case I have ever owned, and the price is unbeatable in terms of quality. I've had cases costing $400 and up that weren't as good as this, including SKB, Nanuk, and other high-end brands, as well as Pelican 1720 and 1750 models. FOR ME, THIS IS THE BEST OF THEM ALL.
I purchased two of these cases (VAULT 800) because they are so good. If you want to save money, you'll have to wait for the right pricing window. However, it is much less expensive than Pelican (I own a lot of Pelican cases). br>The only issue is locating the ideal locks. I wound- I ended up having to purchase locks with much longer shanks than I wanted (Master Lock M530XQLH). 4 locks are required. br>Don't forget that aftermarket replacement foam is available for a variety of rifle configurations ($50 for 2" foam when I bought it, but now $65).
