They aren't detachable, unfortunately. They're in the bag with everything else. They have elastic compression bands across the front to keep whatever is placed inside secure and from moving. The flaps are secured with Velcro and buckles to prevent them from accidentally opening when the bag is carried or hoisted up like a backpack. This is an exceptionally well-made bag.

The fabric quality of this product blew me away when I received it. I was all set to load it up and put it away when I noticed that every single zipper, including the internal ones, was out of alignment! I went to the manufacturer's website and emailed them, but I was unable to obtain a replacement or advice on how to align the zippers properly. br>br>After a month, nothing has changed.
The case arrived just a few minutes ago, and I was so taken aback that I felt compelled to write this review. Despite the fact that this is my first real gun case, I have a lot of musical instrument cases and heavy-duty luggage. I've used a lot of duty ski boot bags over the years, so I know what a good case should look like, and this one exceeded my expectations, as have many other reviews. Don't even think about how cheap it is. It's an excellent case-in-point. period. The only caveat is that it is not a rigid case like a Pelican, which is, in my opinion, far more practical for most uses. br>br>The weight was the first thing I noticed. It weighs about 7 pounds empty. It weighs in at 5 pounds, making it slightly heavier than the rifle. It's made of tough materials and has pockets on the inside and out. The pockets, after all, are pockets. Zippers, velcro, elastic tension cords, and nylon clips are all included. There's even a chest strap on the shoulder straps to keep it in place while hiking. When you open it, you'll find a large main compartment with a padded divider in which you can store two rifles. While this is not a rigid case, if only carrying one rifle, I suppose acrylic or masonite inserts with some additional padding could make it more rigid if you had to make it gorilla-proof. proof of travel by plane I haven't checked the diameter of the loops to see what type of lock would fit, but the main zippers have an overlap where you can install a luggage lock. When I go to the range, I don't need to bring a separate case for my handguns, ammo, and accessories because this case is more flexible than a rigid case. The only disadvantage I see is that I believe it will become too heavy, as the case and rifle alone weigh 15 pounds. Add a few handguns and 5 pounds of ammo, and you've got yourself a 25-person shooting range. It's not impossible to lose 30 pounds. However, it beats carrying an 18-pound Pelican case (before the rifle is inserted) plus all the extra gear that can't fit inside the Pelican. br>br>It's not gorilla-related. proof or waterproof are two different terms for the same thing. You can't just drive over it with your truck and expect your rifle to be unharmed. However, the designers didn't miss a beat when it came to basic protection, general ruggedness, build quality, and cargo capacity. If I had to pick one flaw, it would be that the main zipper could have been a little stronger, but I'm sure these will hold up fine unless you abuse the case. You won't find a better deal than this for around $65.
It's convenient to be able to bring a second rifle inside, and the amount of storage space is incredible. There are four boxes in my possession. I bought it as a spur-of-the-moment purchase. It came as part of a two-pack. I had my heart set on a rifle soft "bag. " I believe that purchasing the bundle saved me about $10 on the two items. I considered selling it on Craigslist after trying to fit my two carbines into the "bag" when it arrived. "I had to cram everything into this "case because it was too small. " After folding the stock on one of my carbines, there was enough room to install a PCC. It appeals to me. It's a good size, with plenty of room in the case and pockets. Some people have complained about the weight, but I think it's a good thing.
