The case is both sturdy and well-made, with some excellent latches and, of course, water resistance. I believe the lower price is due to the fact that this series is not manufactured in the United States. The text "Made in Mexico" can be found on the back of the case. " This may annoy some, but I assure you that the same great pelican quality you've come to expect is present.
Using a red pen to trace the required hole and a sharp 6" blade kitchen knife, I was able to make my own cutouts in no time. To avoid cutting through to the bottom and leaving no padding underneath, make the hole a little smaller for a snug fit and REMOVE THE BOTTOM FOAM FIRST.
