I have had it for a few months and it has worked flawlessly for me. The batteries last for quite a while, and the installation and timer setup are very simple. Setup took place on May 28th, and was quick and easy. A deliverer of sixes at seven I have taken four shots at 30am and then another four at 5pm on four AA batteries. It was originally filled up with 50lb cracked corn and 40lb Layer Pellets, which only fills the system half way, and was just emptied today July 14. I slept on the same batts and fed 90#s of feed for almost two months. Even though the batteries are still going strong, I'm going to hook up the solar panel to continue to use the device. My birds love it and I have not had a problem with it. This lid locks pretty tight showing no indication of water getting inside during a few heavy winds. Pellets at the spinner are not clogging. CABELAS also has this item for $129, so I believe it to be the SAME item. For its price, I am really impressed with this. And I will definitely purchase one again in the future.

As soon as the feeder is set up and programmed, it is ready to go. It would be helpful if I had better instructions on how to properly hook up the solar charge to the battery and where the solar panel should be positioned so that it would not interfere. There was a broken plastic latch on the lid of the unit when it arrived. We didn't bother trying to replace it since it stays on without the broken part and can still be used. We have ordered a replacement lid from Moultrie because the squirrels are chewing through the lid. With the solar panel charging the battery, the squirrels are not getting shocked, so the battery appears to be doing fine. As soon as they reach the corn on the bottom spinner plate through the shock guard, they wait their turn.
