Questions & Answers

What is the purpose of the tab on the front?

A second knife (in its sheath) can be attached to the sheath's tab. In a nutshell, it allows you to stack two or more knives on top of one another.

Is it possible to cut a seat belt with this knife?

That's one I've never tried! Although, given its sharpness, I believe it would have no trouble cutting a seat belt, I would prefer to use a serrated knife for such a job.

How much does the knife and sheath weigh when they're both on?

Mora claims that the total weight is 122 grams. I hope this information is useful.

Is it okay for me to carve wood with this knife?

Yes, all Morakniv knives are extremely sharp and durable; they carve wood exceptionally well and make excellent bushcraft utility knives at a reasonable price.

You've got to be kidding me, right? My son received the knife as a gift for Christmas
3/5

Without going into too much detail, I'm a skilled woodsman in real life and on film. My kid cuts up some summer sausage and washes the blade off after I know how to use a knife (Mora is a great brand). It's rusted to bits the next time he takes it out. br>For $12 or whatever, I didn't expect much. What I WAS expecting was to get something better than what I could get at Walmart's knife counter. br>It makes me wonder what other people are doing with the knife that it is receiving such positive feedback.

Blade of High Quality: There is a minor problem (READ BELOW)
5/5

It doesn't get much better than a morakniv, and this one lives up to its name. For a price that would not get you a cloth sheath, it comes surgically sharp and nicely sheathed in perfectly molded plastic. It's made of carbon steel. br>br> It will rust (not severely) if used near salt water, in my experience. It does require some oiling from time to time and will sharpen more than the stainless steel counterpart (which has not rusted in my experience around salt water). SLIGHT PROBLEM:BR>BR>SLIGHT PROBLEM:BR>SLIGHT PROBLEM:BR>SLIGHT PROBLEM:SLIGHT PROBL Although this is purely cosmetic, you should be aware that the spine (the flat part along the top of the blade) is unground and has valleys and pits. This has no effect on the integrity or functionality of the system. It's only for the sake of appearances. br>I ordered three as gifts, but I could only give two of them. I kept one because it was too unsightly on the spine from a cosmetic standpoint. It's been a phenomenal experience. It appeals to me. br>br>The spine issue is unimportant for the price. It's also mentioned in the summary. However, if you're looking for a tool that will last a lifetime, look elsewhere. This one is a hard worker.

Is this good, but what about the seconds? Overall, I like the knife; I have a few other Moras, but they all have longer blades and are stainless steel
4/5

I bought this to try out their carbon steel and intend to use it as a utility knife when working outside, camping, or in the great outdoors. Who knows what else I'll be able to do with it in the future. For cleaning small game, it appears to be the right size. The disadvantages. br>br> Is it possible that these are factory seconds? I didn't see that in the ad, but I'm curious. Reasons: When I ran my thumb across the blade, it appeared to have no burr, so it wasn't very sharp out of the box. My other Mora's always told me to shave the hair off my arm as soon as I got out of the box. With my stone, getting a decent edge wasn't difficult. It'll take a lot more to get it to a razor-sharp edge. Second, I noticed that nearly the entire length of the spine is rough, as if it were unfinished steel. Just ahead of the handle is a very rough section on the blade's spine. I'll try to get a good photo to post, but I've already begun smoothing it out with a file and stone. It's not a big deal to me because I intend to use it, and the worst area is right where I'd use it to strike a fero rod. However, if you're looking for a razor-sharp blade, this isn't it.

Overall it is a Mora so how can you go wrong, I just want to make sure people know these aren not 100% perfect.

It is without a doubt worthwhile
5/5

This is the knife for you if you need a knife for work, hunting, fishing, camping, busting down a swisher, or carving and don't want to feel bad about completely destroying it. This is your grandfather's "back in my day steel," so steer clear of the stainless mora knives. It holds an edge well, is simple to sharpen, and rusts quickly if not acid washed or oiled. Ignore the reviews that claim it's a rusted, low-cost knife; these are common people who own a plethora of dull stainless Chinese knives. Keep one in your glove compartment; they also make excellent gifts. Give one to each of your parents and brothers, as well as your friends. Simply keep a bottle of mineral oil on hand to coat the blade and a small pocket stone on hand to sharpen it. When it comes to taking care of business, a carbon steel blade that has been oiled and sharpened will never let you down.

For the money, you get a lot of bang for your buck
5/5

A total of $10 was paid by me. I paid $66 for this knife and am extremely pleased with it. Is the product of good quality? It is for a buck sixty-six. Sure, my $400 custom-built EDC is of far higher quality than you'd expect; However, I purchased this knife with the intention of using it and abusing it. In Texas, we butcher a lot of wild pork and filet a lot of catfish, and I plan on using this knife for both dirty jobs, which I expect it to be perfect for. It's super sharp, like scary sharp, so be careful, and I'll be wearing cut-proof gloves. Is it something I'd go out of my way to get? As soon as I'm done with this review, I'm going to do it. It isn't a family heirloom; it is a one-of-a-kind item. Consider it a Bic lighter, nothing fancy, but perfectly adequate for the task at hand.

Very incisive
5/5

After reading some other online reviews, I decided to purchase a few of these knives. I wanted to get a few for everyday use and for the outdoors. br>br>I chose red for a utility knife because I wanted it to be visible and noticeable so I wouldn't lose it while working in the garage or outside. br>br>Without a doubt, this is a high-quality blade. The only thing I would warn about is the lack of grip on the handle in this version. As a result, if you don't have dry hands, you should be cautious when handling it. Because this thing is so sharp right out of the package, I could easily slip and cut myself. br>br>I'll be purchasing more Morakniv knives in the future!.

This knife is fantastic! I bought two of these knives, one in steel and one in stainless steel
5/5

Why- Because I can sharpen steel better than SS, and if steel rusts, I can rely on SS to get the job done. I'll keep the steel in my backpack out of the rain and use SS on my belt in the field. When hunting, I believe it is essential to have two knives. Butchering, such as skinning and gutting, can quickly dull a blade, so switch and keep going. I adore both of them; they're both razor-sharp and comfortably fit my xlarge hand. From the stamping process, a burr has formed on the back of the blade. I sanded it down fairly easily so that I could use it on my striker steel and give it a finished appearance. All of this pales in comparison to the exceptional quality of this knife, which I adore.
