Questions & Answers

What is the thickness of the blade in particular?

8mm

I'm curious about the color of the handle. ?

G10 in black and grey.

Is it true that the knife comes with a sheath and a belt clip, as shown in the photo?

This knife comes with a molded polymer sheath with a belt clip plate that can be removed.

Is this something that has been powder coated?

Powder coating isn't required because the steel is s35vn, a rust-resistant alloy. Unless you're worried about your acid wash blade reflecting the sun.

The S35VN version of the classic ESEE design
5/5

I'm at a loss for words. This is a tried-and-true recipe. In a high-quality stainless blade steel, this is an authentic ESEE design. It will be different from their 1095 knives in terms of performance. You won't be able to take as much of a beating with this knife, but it will keep its edge for much longer, and as long as you know that going in, you should be very happy with it. And their warranty is unbeatable. Even if you break this knife in half trying to pry open a treasure chest (I have no idea what you've been up to), they'll repair or replace it with no questions asked. It has the best warranty of any of the major knife companies.

Fixed blades are now my new favorite
5/5

Sharp, stainless, and comfortable in my hand; S35vn steel performs well and holds an edge; I haven't sharpened it yet. S30v is not nearly as brittle. You have to really abuse these things to break them. There are no straight edges and I can't get it to spark a ferro rod, but it has really nice chartered edges all over that are great for hand feel. You could probably grind one in with a dremel, not because the steel is stainless, but because there are no rough edges on the spine. However, since the sheath doesn't have a ferro rod holder, this isn't a big deal. I was surprised that I didn't mind the polymer sheath, despite the fact that it rides high and doesn't have a dangler option. The black and blue 3d contour handle would have been nice, but it's just a matter of taste. I don't give a damn about the appearance because the handle is so comfortable. I like it just as much as, if not more than, my Benchmade 162 Bushcrafter.

Esse 4
5/5

PREMIUM S35VN MADE IN THE UNITED STATES. This is my first Esse knife. br>Wow, a ten out of ten. br>Amazing American-made knife. It's now my go-to EDC blade. br>The S35VN premium stainless steel is exceptional in terms of edge retention. S35VN steel is a material that I adore. br>Because I wear an XL glove, I was concerned that the handle would be too short, as some others had complained. But that is not the case here; it fits my hand like a glove; yes, it could be a little longer on the end, but that is why the Esse 5 exists. If you own an esse knife made of 1095 carbon steel, I highly recommend checking out this S35VN. I'd like to see Esse offer all of their models in this premium s35 stonewash finish, not as a replacement for 1095, but as a premium alternative. br>My only complaint was that the sheath was so difficult to get into and out of that it left black spots on my canvas handles near the finger cutout. It's not a big deal because it's a tool, not a piece of jewelry, but a brand new knife with black spots on the canvas is a little disappointing. But, in the end, this is a family heirloom that I will pass down to my children. In addition, no one can match the lifetime warranty. You break it when you pry a car door open with the boom replacement. There are no doubts. br>Purchase this blade!!.

EDC as well as my new favorite
5/5

I've owned a lot of knives, but this is now my favorite! I wasn't a big fan of Esee before because most of their blades are coated in plastic, which I don't like (if they ever make a model 5 or 6 without the coating, I'll be first in line). This is the perfect size for me as an "every day carry" (EDC) fixed blade. The knife comes with a 20 degree micro bevel out of the box, which is where I set all of my bush knives (and then easily keep them sharp with a few strokes on the "Spiderco Sharpmaker"). My medical condition is moderate. I have large hands, and the handle size is ideal and comfortable for me. The spine jimping is excellent – it's very comfortable. does not encroach on my thumb The finger notch (choil) isn't just for show; it's also a useful design feature that I use to choke up for better control. The spine isn't sharp enough to ignite a ferro rod, but if you're desperate, the cutting edge will. I usually throw away the factory sheath and make a custom one, but I'll be using the factory sheath with minor modifications on this knife (I did file the retention notches down a bit to make the knife easier to deploy). The retention clip is sturdy and reliable.

Where the Best Value Meets the Best Quality   Where Highest Quality Meets Best Valuebr>Over the years, I've collected a large number of knives, ranging from well-known brands to lesser-known names
5/5

It's my first ESEE knife, and it's THE BEST OF THE BEST. I strongly advise researching S35VN steel on the internet in order to fully appreciate the true worth of this knife. I base my knife purchases on the type of steel used in the blade, and this is, without a doubt, the best steel available. On top of that, there are a few additional bonuses: br>Made in the United States, the knife size is ideal (I don't need a huge knife, I just need a strong blade that will hold an edge for a long time and is corrosion resistant, right? The grip is just right; it's not too big or too small, it's very comfortable, it looks great, and it has texture for a secure grip. It's quite heavy for its size, as it's made of a single solid piece of metal (full tang). I first learned about the S35VN a few years ago while researching the best knife blade metal. After that, I went on the hunt for a knife on the internet, but it was nearly impossible to find an American-made knife made with this steel because it was so expensive! Until now! This ESEE-accredited program This knife was razor sharp right out of the box, literally (in the video, I shaved a spot on my arm). 4 S35VN is the best of the best. . . . It will keep an edge for a long time and is easy to sharpen; just a few swipes with a good sharpener will restore the razor edge. This is a knife of exceptional quality that can be passed down through the generations.
