How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
It's perfectly balanced, with a sturdy but needle-sharp point and a wasp waisted design that cuts both ways.
Its monolithic construction makes the blade, guard, and tang one inseparable piece; it is extremely strong and tough because there is nothing to break, loosen, or wear out.
The only "add-on" is the handle scales, which can be quickly and easily replaced in the extremely unlikely event that they break or wear out.
Lightweight enough to carry all day and durable enough to last a lifetime with proper care; comes with a Secure-Ex sheath.

Questions & Answers

I got a gray one instead of a black one. This is a beautiful knife.

The clip isn't working, so how do you put it on a belt?

It's not intended to be used as a belt buckle. A simple belt or pant snap is all that's required. It's primarily designed to attach to the top of the boot with a boot style clip. or just on the inside of the trouser leg. br>One of the best is the Ulti clip. to keep a firm grip br>Wishing you all the best.

Solid as a rock Survival- Camp- fun Use! This is a brand new version of Cold Steel's survivalist knife (mo 36MH), which is hard to come by at the time of writing
5/5

I made an Amazon purchase. Blade Shop is in charge of fulfilling Prime orders. On the internet, I found only two sellers. The cost ranged from $70 to $1000. $72 Please keep in mind that this is a medium-sized model. The color is grey, not black or dark. silver, bronze In real life, it appears to be much lighter than any of the photographs (including mine) depict. Despite the fact that it isn't stainless, I would prefer a plain steel finished blade, but dark coatings seem to sell knives. br> Mine came in at 14 pounds. 4 oz (not the 18 oz) as stated by another reviewer On cold steels, 3oz is still visible. other internet sites). The blade meets the guard at the balance point. It has a very natural feel to it (handle- One of the reasons I avoided the earlier version (mo 36MC) was because of its heaviness: This monolithic knife comes in a champagne color and has a hollow-ground blade. I've never been a fan of the handle style, either in terms of color or design. handle- design. The handle material had been removed in the previous version. Still, the balance point was too far back for my tastes, and the grip style was slick. I find it difficult to hold on to. The incredibly sticky surface All of these issues have been resolved with the new version's very thick plastic palm swell inserts: no handle wrap is required! My hands are quite large. It's just right for my grip. br> I measured the spine width at 7/32", which is slightly less than the 6mm spec, which I think is a good thing because it ( The weight is reduced thanks to the new handle design: On a knife of this size, a 1/4 pound reduction in weight is enormous! Its weight is almost identical to that of its sister blade, the Recon Scout. It's a good weight for the job, but I wouldn't want it to be any heavier. br> I was able to find what I was looking for. a great finish: The blade was in perfect condition. There were no alignment issues that I could see with my naked eye. The blade arrived sharp enough to shave 1/4" peels off paper with ease, which is quite impressive for a blade this thick. It also has a needle-like handle. The point is very sharp. The "edge" of the clip has been ground flat, so it isn't at all sharp: This type of knife is better suited to batoning than back-breaking work, so it makes sense. In my opinion, cutting is necessary. The knife slid into its sheath with ease, but it snapped shut at the end. I couldn't jerk the knife free while upside down because it was sheathed, but there is a slight rattle near the tip. br> Different sizes of knives are better for different jobs, but I bought this one as a super heavy-duty bush-crafting knife. do-it-yourself / do-it-yourself / make-it-yourself I can beat anyone with a knife. There's no need to be concerned because both the steel-based and the non-steel based kind of Knife designs are made to withstand it. It's not too expensive for me to feel bad about doing it! If I had to choose only one survival knife, I would choose this one. br> Overall, this knife comes highly recommended!!.

The percentage of sheaths that are retained is dangerously low
3/5

My leg was sliced by a knife that had come out of nowhere. Stitches are necessary. I'm re- I'm writing this review from the emergency room of my local hospital, where I'm getting stitches in my lower leg just above boot level. I had the UltiClip mounted straight on the boot and it held the sheathe in place perfectly. In my boot, I'm up vertical. However, the retention on the sheathe that holds the knife in place is WAY too low. This morning, I went to stomp mud off my boots before getting into my car, and the knife came completely out of its sheath, luckily lodged in my pants leg in a way that only scratched me. I was irritated, but I figured I'd just have to remember not to stomp in the future. I tripped over the curb about an hour ago while carrying something heavy. I was able to catch myself, but my foot landed hard on the ground, and the knife came out of its sheath, slicing my leg open. The entire right side of my sock was soaked in blood from top to bottom by the time I removed my boot to examine it in the parking lot. I liked this knife a lot, but the sheath is extremely dangerous. I considered posting photos of my leg, but I was concerned that this would offend some people. To be clear, the sheathe retention isn't so poor that it will fall out if you turn it upside down and gently bump it. However, stomping or running fast is not an option. When stomping off mud or simply CATCHING yourself from a trip, a boot knife should NOT come out of the sheath. I'm returning it to Amazon for a refund right away. br>br>UPDATE (15 MONTHS AFTER THE EVENT): Because some people in the comments asked to see the injury, I've included a photo of my permanent scar 15 months after the sheath failure.

Incredible worth
5/5

I have a large collection of knives. Knives are something I've been reading a lot about. I deal with a large number of knives on a regular basis. There isn't much on the market right now from a reputable manufacturer that can match this knife's value in this category. At this price, the fit, finish, design, and materials are incredible, and I've used knives that cost many times more. But I haven't been able to muster the courage to use it yet. I guess I didn't mention that it's a lovely knife, though I wish it had DLC coating, as CS DLC coating is virtually indestructible. When this coating is used, I'm sure it will wear off. I'll be purchasing another of these in the near future. This knife encapsulates my feelings about this brand; no one else comes close in terms of value.

Steel for ball bearings For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about
5/5

52100 is a ball bearing steel, and if you do a web search for "knife steels," you'll find many lists, the best of which show the benefits and drawbacks of various metals, and you won't find a better metal for a short blade than 52100. You'll never see this in a long sword because it's not made for it, and 5160, a spring steel, is better for long swords. 52100 is the best metal for a short blade and will outlast any other metal. If you do anything else, you can literally beat the hell out of this knife and the edge will still be there for you. The finish may show wear, but the edge will still be there. There are no handle inserts or anything else that could break or fail you on this knife. Some people suggest wrapping the handle, but this could have an impact on how the sheath is used. entering and exiting What you get is Cold Steel's ultimate metal for a shaving edge knife, and I believe you will be very pleased with it!!.
