I tried it for the first time and five of the twenty "ball bearing" swivels that came in the package were blocked On saltwater reels with braid of 50# and fluorocarbon leaders of 40#, I rigged up six fish that were working. I fished a day trip out in the gulf of mexico over artificial reef, having hooked up multiple times and landing all the fish (8-5) caught. A 15-pound snapper (from which I had my old swivels). We lost all 13 fish we hooked with the new swivels, and the swivel had broken. The swivel had snapped under the stress of a few pounds. We brought back a smaller fish and I was able to save the other one because I noticed the swivel ring was bent and about to snap. It is made from cheap steel and is terribly made. You won't regret the money you've spent.

This piece has one star because the swivels are damaged a great deal. It came with one circle instead of two, and the swivels are defective in many places.

What is the real weight of these swivels? I'm wondering if I can believe Dr. Fish. On the #6 and #8, you received a test rating of 6. As a result of an explanation from Dr Fish, I was informed that my packages of #8 Ball Bearing Swivels were miss-labeled at the warehouse, and I am satisfied that the correct item was delivered, and I would like to change my 2 stars back to 5 stars. I was notified by their customer service that they were dealing with the error and fixing it.

My dad was a surf fisherman for 40 years, so I'm a self-proclaimed "old salt. " This is a good set of swivels that I bought for my latest trip. Their main purpose is to swivel (right? ), so they swivel freely. They have sufficient strength and are of sufficient quality. The last trip I had, I lost two big fish but neither of them were due to the swivel (line cut by a shark, line snapped). The swivels were able to stand up to some serious tugging when I used 65lb braid on my big reels. The product is exactly what I was looking for, would.

The swivels on this page are not of the 130# class. Though they might hold 130 lbs. in their hands, they can cut through any 130 lbs. They would be returned if they were fresh water fish, but I fish for bluegill on fresh water. My intention was to use high quality swivels with 6# test line for small fish but I am feeling very unsatisfied with the purchase.

The spinning disks were great when I first owned them, but after a few uses in salt water they become stiff. In addition, there is an orange discoloration where the rings are welded together. Maybe there's rust on the wheels?.

These are the best deals and the best quality you can find on the market. On a recent trip to Catalina island, I wanted to catch yellowtail and bonito, so I purchased the #2 size (65lbs). One is enough for me to go fishing for an entire day. I did not fail to catch a single bonito in the test and the product stood up to 7 enormous ones. I was able to swim and spin my jigs freely using these ball bearing swivels, as they reduced line twist from the main line to my leader. To keep them from corroding and to make them rotation more smoothly, put a small amount of oil on all of them. The bearings they look and feel like are Owners Hyper Ball Bearings that are much more expensive.
