I was using these for salt water fishing, but they will rust. It is common for saltwater to get trapped inside the barrels of swivels every time I fish. After just one trip, those spots began to rust due to their inability to clean inside the barrels. In the case of rusted equipment, I don't want to depend on it. My impression is that snap swivels like this are only designed for one-time use. Those aren't worth adding to your cart if so. It is better to buy stainless steel equipment if it means that it will last. For freshwater anglers, these may suit you better. In the end, they are strong and I haven't had one break.

The ease with which hooks or lures can be changed is nice

A hook or lure can be easily swapped out without much effort, which I appreciate. It may even help you avoid getting hooked up and hanging under the water if you use swivels. Swivels can be stretched if they are dragged over a piece of wood or something submerged. With this method, the hook can flip up and over the hook without getting tangled. Whether or not it is true, Add a little sparkle to your favorite lure's head for an extra bit of shine. You might just be able to catch that monster fish with this method.

I always use fresh water after using saltwater once and then rinse it in fresh water afterward as I have since I was a child. A complete rust-out, in such a state that I would not trust it to be used.

I purchased these to try my hand at wrapping vape wire. Even when several of them are linked together, they catch constantly and are utterly useless. I would give them 1 star, but I am not using them for their intended purpose, so I cannot comment on whether or not they are effective.
