Are the flies effective for bass, bream, and crappie?

My grandson uses it for everything, and he fishes for pretty much anything. It all comes down to knowing what the habitat has to offer in the area where you'll be fly fishing and being able to match it.

Everything in this kit was the very first of its kind for me - My first vice, bobbin, and everything else was all brand new to me. I don't use any of the items in the kit right now, which I think says a lot. I'm using a different vice, bobbin, and materials than you are. Yes, this can be an expensive start-up, but if you want to tie quality bugs, you'll need to get quality materials, and I'm not sure what else to say about that. The only real complaint I have is with the vice, which I would have kept as a spare travel vice if it hadn't broken after only two weeks. The clasps and other parts' joins simply popped off over time, rendering the vice useless. br>br>My advice is to visit your local fly shop or do some research online; there isn't a bug that youtube can't teach you to tie, and all of the materials you'll need will be on these videos.

Beware - The kit does not include everything you'll need to get started

While the kit contains a lot of materials to get you started tying flies, it does not contain everything. The instruction book, for example, walks you through each step step by step, and the first step for the first fly is to use lead wiring, which is not included in this kit. It also lacks instructions for any of the tools they use, as well as glue. I was so excited to get started, but I was quickly disappointed when I couldn't even finish the first step of the first fly. Now I have to wait another week before I can begin. br>br>Advice - Do your homework on the tools and supplies you'll need; don't rely on kits to provide everything you'll need to get started; this was my mistake. A valuable lesson has been learned:.

Clamp is very inexpensive. This is not a durable product. The quality of the materials isn't particularly high. Scissors are useless in this situation. It is unquestionably not worth the price tag. I'm not happy at all. The book was also out of order and numbered incorrectly, which was particularly disappointing. It's difficult to keep going, especially if you're just starting out. With the help of this manual, try making the Caddis.

For beginners, this is a good starter kit. Crappie jigs were purchased for my retired husband. He's ordered more supplies and has already completed about 20 crappie jigs, so he may have created a monster. YouTube has a lot of great ideas.

There aren't enough materials to make all of the flies in the book, so the kit isn't complete

First and foremost, I'd like to express my delight at receiving this kit. After that, it arrived. It irritates me that they sell this kit without the materials required to make the first fly in the book. Lead wire and glue are required for the fly, which are not included in the kit and are not mentioned in the product description. I would not have bought the book if I had known I wouldn't be able to make even the first fly in it. If you want to buy this kit, you should look elsewhere.

This device is difficult to operate and performs poorly. I struggle a lot every time I try to close/tighten it. It swivels and doesn't work properly.

This was an excellent way to get started, but you'll quickly notice that the hackle is quite inexpensive. Expect your flies to look nothing like those in the videos unless you invest in higher-quality materials. I wish they had included a bodkin and a whip finish tool. It was sufficient to get me started, and I had a great time doing it.

Some items needed to make a tie were not included in the kit (such as head cement and lead wire), but they were mentioned in the instructions. The DVD gave beginners useful information and step-by-step instructions on how to tie flies. Everything is clearly labeled, and there are plenty of resources to get you started.
