No, I don't use the vise tool holder because the tool holder does a good job. Why not get one and give it a shot for $20? The holder looks and functions exactly like the much more expensive "name brand" model.
I placed one beneath the tool rack and one above it.
Used to attach the Vise shaft to the tool caddy so that it can be held at various heights. The shafts of vices come in a variety of sizes. O- is the reason for this. Every ring is unique. I hope this has been of assistance.

I already had a vice-mounted caddy to hold a few tools, so I was considering this foam caddy or the popular wood caddy as options for storing the rest of my tools. br>br>As soon as I took this foam caddy out of the box, I could tell it was of much higher quality than the pictures indicated. I was able to fit the majority of my tools, and the spacing and hole sizes seem to work well for me. I only wish the smallest holes were a little wider; I use them to hold spooled bobbins, and they're either too close together or too far apart to fit more than a few. br>br>I noticed right away that using this caddy increased my efficiency when tying flies. I don't lose tools under materials anymore, and now that they're all in one place in the caddy, I can grab them more quickly.
So every time I tie a knot, I have to drag everything out and try to keep everything in order. This caddy has proven to be extremely useful. While there are more storage spaces than I'll probably ever need, it's convenient to have the most frequently used items close at hand. Also, there's a little caddy that attaches to the vice post. GREAT! Now I know exactly where my scissors are at all times! They aren't hidden beneath the clutter on my small table. If your tying area is cluttered, cramped, or both, this is highly recommended.
This is one of those items that you can live without until you have one, at which point you'll wonder what you did without it. The tool hanger for the vise stem was included as well. I thought this was a little too close together, so I stacked it on top of an extra stem to make a bobbin tower.
tying up with friends It's made of thick, dense foam that's both strong and durable! It's ideal for storing all of my husband's fly-catching gear. tool for tying This organizer has made him very happy.
I'm terrible at keeping track of my fly-tying supplies. I take out my scissors and lay them down in case I can't find them, then I start searching. This tool holder is exactly what I needed; I use a tool, put it back in the holder, and it's ready to use whenever I need it. It's fantastic, and it also protects things. I would strongly suggest it. Shipped quickly and accurately.
It's been put to good use and has helped me stay organized. There will be no more wasted time looking for a tying tool. There is no strewn about on the table. I'd rather tie than type now if I could move my fingers more quickly.
I like the vise buddy's magnets. I'll have to go to the fly shop to get some tools to fill in the gaps! As if you're holding a big squishy stress ball!.
We've had great success with this method. We intend to use it both at home and on the road.
