Solarez UV Resins in Sample Tubes are our most popular fly tying UV resins. - As a starter kit, there's enough for a lot of flies!
Unlike other UV cure resins, which cure tacky, these resins cure exceptionally dry.
A thin, hard formula that produces a super-hard, scratch-resistant finish!
Thick, hard formula with a high viscosity for thick coatings or spheres (bodies, heads, and eyes).
F-L-E-X Formula: Flexible Finish for Swimmers and Flex Parts (also ideal for wader repair).

Questions & Answers

I'd like to paint uv paint on plastic goggles to make them glow underwater. Is this a viable option?

Let me try to explain more clearly: You want to put a coating on your goggles (glass or plastic?). ) in order for them to glow or fluoresce in the dark? (daily radiance)? And our UV resin will disperse the pigment you'd like to use? If that's the case, I'd recommend that you try our Thin-Film Technology. Fly Tie Resin is a hard resin that can be used to tie flies If you want it to stick to glass, I could modify it to make it stick to glass better.

Is there anything that can be used to remove the cured glue? Maybe acetone?

I'm not sure, but I'm sure you'll hear back from the Solarez team about it. These tubes are the size of super glue tubes, but the product inside is more of a solar cure resin than a glue. I'm not sure if they'd work as glue, but the Solarez people should be able to tell you.

Is it a matte or a gloss finish? Thanx! ?

All three of these products cure to a high-gloss finish.

Do these resins work well for coating knots on hand-tied leaders, or should I get the Loon knotsense instead?

I'm afraid I'd never glue a hand-tied leader knot. That, I believe, is a marketing gimmick. Yes, these products will perform as well as Loon's, but all UV glues, even in direct sunlight, take a long time to dry. These Solarez products were purchased to cover some thread wraps on braided loop connections that I made myself. All of the resins, especially the flex resins, exceeded my expectations. However, I'd like to leave a positive review so that other fly tiers don't waste their money
3/5

First and foremost, I bought this to use for fly tying. I've never used UV resin/glues before, preferring epoxy, but I figured I'd give it a shot to save time (more on that later), and I wanted to give a fair review so other fly tyers don't waste their money. br>br>First and foremost, the bottles are TINY, about the size of a super glue bottle or even smaller. This is more of a sample collection than anything else. I was aware of this prior to entering, but I was still surprised by their size. br>br>I thought the product was great and did exactly what it was supposed to. It doesn't save time over epoxy, though, because mixing a batch of epoxy and putting all the flies on the turner is much easier when tying 4 dozen flies at once. This is definitely easier if you are only going to tie a few. br>br>Now, for my issues with the product: First, the bottles are tiny, and they were only HALF FULL at most. I started squeezing it from the end, pinching it tight like a roll of tooth paste, and I was almost out when I got to the "main" body of the tube. I was irritated, but I reasoned that it could have been a packaging error. Nope. It happened to all three tubes in the same way. My second gripe is the cost, which was roughly $4 per tube in this sample pack. For the same price, you can get 100 times the amount of epoxy, but I only got 4 dozen flies out of all three tubes, and the majority of them were deceiver heads. I did tie up a few different candy eels, but they depleted the product far too quickly. br>br>I dug around and discovered some UV resin sold as "craft glue. " For $16, I purchased a 120g bottle (approximately 5 inches tall by 2 inches wide). It cures clearer and faster than this product, and I despise it when companies in the industry sell the same product under their own name for a much higher price because it's for "fly fishing. " br>br>As a result, buyer beware. There are other options that are just as good for a LOT less money.

This is incredible work
5/5

I'd never used a UV cure resin before, but I had a few 'projects' that I wanted to test it out on. It turned out that I could fix my wife's small figurine with it in a matter of seconds. The speed with which it cured astounded me. It only took 3 seconds and was as solid as a rock. That's fantastic! Following that, I attempted to repair a chip in my granite counter. I used a knife-grade epoxy at first, but it turned milky. Anyway - I chipped away at the old epoxy 'fix' and was able to repair it with a few coats of the thin UV resin invisibly. As the British would say, it went down a storm. Although there may be better options available, the SOLAREZ performed admirably.

TDLR: BUYING IS A MISTAKE
3/5

I gambled while doing my homework. There is a lot of regret here. This is one of the worst fly-tying purchases I've ever made. It's extremely small. They're about 3 inches long and 3/4 inch wide, so they're very small tubes. The pictures I saw on this site are misleading. To the touch, thick gel is always tacky. Money that could have been better spent. Whether it's Loon or someone else, it's a good idea to go with them. There are numerous options available. After doing a lot of research, I decided to give it a shot. I was extremely dissatisfied with the experience and would not recommend it to others. It is unquestionably in need of an applicator. Even if you don't touch it, too much glue will continue to leak out. I wear a tie every day and would suggest that you do the same.

This is an excellent sampler set
5/5

Although there isn't much product (small tubes), it appears to be effective. After fully curing in the sun, I tested each of the small tubes, and they all had a very small amount of tack. Both the thick and thin hard resin tubes dried hard, whereas the flex resin remained flexible. br>br>These have similar properties to many other resins on the market for around the same price, but I'd say it dries with less tack than the others (I've tried three other products). Also, despite the fact that the quantity in these tubes appears to be small, I've been using them for over a year and still have some left in each tube. I'm also a big fly tyer. br>br>Update No. 12 18: Since there have been a few negative reviews, I'd like to state that this stuff works just as well, if not better, than any other UV resin I've tried. Two of the tubes' flimsy plastic tops split on me, but I simply exposed the entire tube to the sun, and the leaking resin sealed the tops automatically. Each tube has about a quarter of its capacity left.

For the weekend warrior, there are plenty of options
4/5

I thought the quantities were small, but I've tied 20 of them together. They're nearly full after 30 flies. I like that I have all three products because I use them for different things. Flexible for use on legs and at the base of hackles and wings to keep them in place, Hard/Thick for a rounded thorax, Hard/Thin to soak in then harden, Hard/Thin to soak in then harden br>Downside: Squeezing a metal tube makes it difficult to control application. I hold it upright and apply it to my bodkin very gently at first; the caps aren't completely secure, so there is some leakage. Just keep in mind that you want to close the cap as tightly as possible without stripping the threads.

It cures harder and more glossy than others
5/5

I tried a few other products, but they didn't keep their sheen. This one takes a long time to cure. The surface is glossy and hard to the touch. UV light and direct sunlight are two of the methods I employ. Shell backs will love the thick consistency. Although the tubes are small, they are infrequently used.

Solarez to the rescue! Excellent product! A UV light that emits 380nm is ideal for this product
5/5

395nm is emitted by most low-cost UV lights. Solorez worked well for me with the less expensive lights, but the resin cures much more slowly. Get a high-quality UV light as a gift to yourself. Solarez has come in handy for both home repairs and fly tying. This is an excellent item.

Model kits will love it! I had no idea people made their own fishing lures and used this type of resin for the eyes and body, so I figured I'd give it a shot
5/5

I use the rigid type resin for Gundam camera lenses and beam effects, while the hard type resin is ideal for doll eyes and the like. I haven't yet come up with a use for the thin type, but I'll keep looking. Overall, it's a fantastic deal that's also simple to use. I'm going to get some more!.
