The soft loop is used to loop around the clevis and back to the hook on the jet ski. The ski will not be damaged as a result of this. The aftermarket hooks on my Yamaha Waverunner are too big to fit the clevis on my ski.

Overall, the design is solid. The stitching appears to be of good quality. Rather than being sewn into the strap like my original, the soft loop is threaded through the eyelet of the hook. Because fewer pieces of material are sewn together, I believe this will result in a lower risk of failure/fatigue over time. The soft loop is longer than my original strap, as I stated in another review. With the extra length, I think this is a good thing for my PWC trailer because it gets the hook off of the rubber guide.
After the strap holding my jetski to the trailer snapped (thankfully, the jetski is fine), I ordered this and it was a breeze to swap them out. It includes everything you'll need and is of excellent quality. I couldn't have asked for a better replacement part! It's super strong and feels even better than the ones that came with the trailer originally! Get this to alleviate some of your stress.

It was a direct replacement for a jet ski trailer. br>It was simple to put together and of excellent quality.
The hook retaining clip broke the first time it was used. Materials that are not too expensive.
I have one of these on my old waverunner that doesn't have a front hook; the strap fits perfectly through the hole and loops back to the hook. It saves me time when it comes to loading and unloading.
Only time will tell if they hold up, but I like the strap now that my inspection tags are still attached to the seafood when I get home.
The only thing I would change is the screw, which looks good and works perfectly. It flexes far too easily. I replaced the screw with a thicker, more durable one.
