It's an obsolete part that fits OEM housings and works perfectly. I bought it for my boat and had no issues with it.

I paid a premium for a genuine Mercruiser part rather than dealing with low-quality imports and guessing what was in the QS box. Imported parts of poor quality. The housing had flash at every mold meeting line, leaving sharp edges on the impeller mating surfaces that would have ripped the new impeller apart in seconds. Of course, there were issues with mold section registration as well. br>br>It only took a few minutes with a pocket knife to smooth everything out, but parts from a reputable manufacturer shouldn't need to be reworked. I'm glad I always inspect each component before putting it together.
Plastic is used to construct the housing. The hardware is incompatible with the requirements. WTF? There are 5 long bolts required, but only 4 long bolts are available. I used the old hardware to install the impeller in my old housing. It's a waste of money to buy such a useless piece of equipment. I bought a new raw water pump to keep on board in case anything goes wrong.
Don't be fooled by part number 46, as I was. 13159, with an EMP impeller and a Hydra impeller? I'm not sure if this part is of good quality. Because of the description and part number, I assumed I was getting a Mercury Marine part.
This is a fantastic substitute. We were able to return to the lake after some time away. It took about an hour to remove and replace the engine on my boat Tige. Since installation, it's been running for about 15 hours with no problems.
Everything went perfectly. Rebuild kit that includes everything you need. It's possible that the old O ring on your pump is difficult to locate. Pry it out of the pump's body with a sharp object. You may only need the impeller, wear plate, and O ring if you replace your impeller once a year. The housing and bolts do not need to be replaced every year, in my opinion. I don't believe the bolts will ever need to be replaced. This, on the other hand, is the full OEM package.
