I don't see a listing for the 1000 gph pump on our website, but to answer your question, the 1000 gph pump is about $12 more expensive than the 750. 00, maybe the person who is listing it for less wants to get rid of one because they aren't very popular, hope this helps.

Mounts for the strainer. The strainer is snapped into place by the pump. 12 volt.. The majority of them are turned on and off via a dashboard switch.
The 22701 is an old style pump; the new style pump has universal elbows that can be aimed in various directions and comes with both a straight and a 90 degree elbow for you to use.

This is a replacement for my Mayfair 750gph, which died earlier this year in my boat. The replacement twists into the same mounting base mounted to the hull (counter clockwise) after it twists off (clockwise). You're good to go after splicing two wires and reattaching the hose. It only took me 5 minutes and it works with the float switch I already have on board.
I received the item quickly, but I was unable to rotate the impeller due to the lack of a way to disengage the lugs. Furthermore - It appears that the item has been returned. Someone tried unsuccessfully to push the lugs down, as evidenced by this. The website address given in the instructions is useless. There is no phone number; only a fax number and an email address are available. I wish I could contact the seller before leaving negative feedback, but I don't have that option.
This was a perfect match for my Mayfair Bilge Pump, which had been in service for 30 years. I didn't even have to take the old basket/mounting bracket out of the way. There was a minor snag in getting the pump out of its new basket. I couldn't do it by hand, but with a lot of force and some very large-sized objects, I was able to do it. She was popped free by a pair of pliers with a wide jaw.
In my 94 Mastercraft, I had to replace a factory-installed pump. (After 24 years, it finally failed. ) ) The Johnson pump fit perfectly in my boat's housing, making installation a breeze. to say the least. Now I'm wondering if it'll last another 24 years. It's too early to tell, but it works for the time being, and that's all that matters.
I can't comment on the pump's performance because I couldn't get it out of the basket to install it. I tried really, really, really hard to turn it clockwise, as suggested by others, but it won't turn.
It lasted for five months. I can't stand being completely devoid of water, even for a brief period of time. The impeller deforms permanently as it heats up. A bilge pump with this design isn't very practical.
It's not an automatic because I ordered the wrong one, but it works fine on a switch.
You will receive exactly what is described in the description. Johnson products are unrivaled.
