For this type of braided line, do you also need a tippet ?

Yes, a tippet 5x length of about 4 feet will work perfectly.

Is there a tippet ring on it?

A small little ring can be seen on the fly line attached to the bottom left of the image, and I believe it might be called a "tippet ring."

This product is described as coming with "a spool to store your line", but my package did not come with one (it just came with the line packaged Would it have made a difference?

The one I purchased on 06/2019 didn't come with a spool nor did it come with the small ring on the end of the line where the tippet attaches, as shown

This book is highly recommended. It nearly broke the line twice before I got it hitched to my Lilian! A pair of fifths should tie it to your Lilian at least until it is "broken in. ".
