Questions & Answers
Yes. When you look at the item code in the drop down, you'll notice that the WF stands for weight forward, the number stands for line weight, and the F stands for floating line.
The color optic green will be attached to the end of the backing, providing a visible running line but a stealthy shooting head for the fisherman.
Cold water lines may become too flimsy in hot weather, but they will still work. In my climate, summer temperatures can reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit. I use a saltwater line at that time because it can handle the heat, but as the weather gets colder, the lines can coil up, making them more difficult to use.
Selected User Reviews For Scientific Anglers Amplitude MPX Taper Fly Line
I like how it casts, especially the ability to shoot line, and the textured finish makes it a little easier to shoot. I'm not a fan of the texture's constant hiss as it shoots and as I strip it in. It detracts from the tranquility of fly fishing. Aside from the constant annoyance of the line hiss, it's a great line; I've been fishing with a fly rod for over 40 years, and maybe I'm too old to put up with things that aren't as they used to be.
If you can stand the sound of the line going through the guides, it's an incredible line that outperforms any other high-end line I've tried, and I've tried a few in Rio.
I've been a long-time user of Scientific Anglers, and this product is fantastic! With distance roll casting, I can cast in tight spaces, and with a regular back cast and double haul, it throws me out with ease. With fast action rods, it does not cast with a delicate presentation, but it is still the best line I have used for a wide range of presentations.
It's a dream to shoot with. It floats just like it says it will. It quickly adds ten percent to the total. To my cast, it's a 15-foot journey.
It rubbed off on my leader, who then slashed my line!! If it isn't built to last even a year, it isn't worth 130.
With only light use, the line broke 10 days after it was received. SA was contacted, but no response was received.
This is by far the best line I've ever heard. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's well worth it It doesn't break because I snag on everything. A minimum of 15 feet has been added.
