This is silicone-based, according to my understanding Since this is a premise based question, we ask Do you clean and dress half the line that you clean? Does being on that 50' line make a difference? It's impossible for me to know. I read an article about a guy who used waterfowl cdc and deer tallow to make a bracelet. This is duck butt oil, which ducks use to waterproof their feathers. This is a natural phenomenon I am not aware of any way to buy either.
Fly line cleaners that clean well and provide slickling to get fly lines out faster. The product can be used on any color of fly line. Clean up with an application and then a wipe. For the final clean and buff, use a cloth.

This product has been very impressive to me. I've been using it on all of my floating lines every few months for the past few years, and I still have half of Buffing pads work great, and the compound is excellent for keeping lines floating high on the water and advancing smoothly through guides. There's no way I can recommend it highly.
