Questions & Answers

Fish skins need to be removed from fillets easily, so my husband wants a knife that can easily do this. The knife appears to be designed for this particular use. ?

In response to your question I have worn out two of my three Rapala filet knives. I am now working on the third. I believe that it will do this and was designed with this use in mind. Obviously, there are easier ways to remove the skin of fish, but I use this knife for my favorite job. It's a skill that requires practice, so you should watch the video on You Tube and decide

When it comes to the blade, how long does it measure? Are they 6 3/4 inches tall, 7 1/2 inches tall, or 9 inches tall?

With a 7 1/2 inch blade, the Rapala7 has an impressive size.

The state of Massachusetts has no restrictions on knives, so why can't you ship to this state?

Here in New York State, I can confirm Amazon has messed up with its knife laws. It is ridiculous and completely wrong that Amazon delivers Bowie knives over 10 inches in blade length to my location in upstate New York, but not a 2 inch blade folding pocket knife. I have bought over 20 folder knives from Amazon in the past without problems, and now they can't. Amazon's fear of being sued by nyc Southern district DA tower wants to shake down knife sellers. It is as if the "law" has changed. Well, I know there is no change in the law, but there is certainly the threat of Amazon being sued.

The knife is intended to be used in saltwater, but how does it fare under such conditions?

I was blown away by the quality of the knife for its price. Saltwater fish are the species that live in the ocean. You'd be better off with one that's stronger and forged to last.

The filet blade that I obtained from this company has been my go-to tool for those seeking to prepare the perfect filet for a long time
5/5

When I began eating sea food and then cooking whole fish, I knew this knife would be a great investment! I'm so glad I purchased this knife as it does the job perfectly. If you are not familiar with Marttiini knives, they make some excellent knives, and have been doing so for decades! They often create Scandinavian style knives such as the "puuko," and often compete with Morakniv when it comes to bushcrafting Rapala's logo is stamped on the blade of this filet knife, which was made by Marttiini for Rapala. When I received the knife, it had a little "splintery" handle, so I simply took a soft piece of pine wood and rubbed the handle of the knife to burnish it out quickly. As the knife is meant for cutting fish and the handle will constantly get wet, I did not want to use sandpaper. The handle is lacquered, and this is rather important since the knife will be wet all the time. When you have any sharp spots on your handle, I recommend that you just pick up a piece of soft wood and rub it against it until the burrs disappear. The lacquered finish will not be harmed this way. The sheath is extremely well made, made of leather of very high quality, and stitched with exceptional, well done work. Moreover, the leather sheath is lined with a polymer insert into which the blade slides to provide an extra layer of protection so the blade will not poke through. This is a great As if that weren't enough, Rapala also offered some pull-string action A ceramic sharpener with a through design. Personally, I do not like them, since I sharpen knives professionally, and I strongly advise people not to use “pull-up” knives It is best to use through-type sharpeners because most of them will ruin the knife. If, however, you are not familiar with sharpening, then this little ceramic sharpener should do a passable job as long as you don't keep the blade for long periods of time. Ceramic sharpeners are intended merely for use on a touch screen It's just an up, not a full-on A sharpening that went awry. So if you do a lot of fishing, and enjoy the process of scaling and fileting the fish you catch, this is a knife you should have! Despite its modern manufacturing, it has been around long enough to earn a place among the top filet knives. This book is highly.

What is intended to be done is done by the product. Fish is sliced like butter and filleting is quick and A friend of mine made mine I am glad that I do not subvention China or any other nation that has blatantly violated human rights, relies on authoritarianism as form of government and abuses I never believed that I could be able to change the world through my purchases, but now I know it's possible.

Invest in something productive instead of wasting It is extremely noticeable that the top is bent just by opening it

My knife was very sharp at first, but I lost its edge pretty quickly when I started using it. There was a lot of dullness on this knife. Once my eyes had adjusted to it, I returned to the camper and spent much time sharpening it with a couple of wet stones of different grits. This is not something I would recommend It is impossible for me to return.

Numerous knives of this type have been in my possession. Despite their hard work, they are nearly impossible A blade that is easy to keep sharp, with a perfect shape. My knives mysteriously disappear, usually dropped in the drink, my friends are honest, all of them have knives like this, I've never been able to find them.

I gave it a better edge using an oil stone and then stropped it with the sheath. A piece of heavy paper can now be easily sliced. A second order was also issued.

My mind is blown! It is a truly amazing knife and it is My first experience filleting salmon with it was a joy! I just finished filleting a couple salmons with it
5/5

I like it much better than my old knife. It cuts through everything very smoothly. Since I can now remove so much more fish meat from the bones without wasting it, I am able to consume more fish. As well as the knife, it is beautiful.

Multi-faceted sharpness and versatility An all-purpose kitchen knife
5/5

This blade is razor sharp, and it is the perfect size to handle a variety of tasks in the kitchen. The knife is advertised as a fishing knife, but it is perfect for use in the kitchen as well. The one I sent as a birthday gift to my friend was very unusual and useful!.
