Selected User Reviews For BUBBA 9 Inch Tapered Flex Fillet Knife with Non-Slip Grip Handle
Five bubba knives were purchased for the job since we do a significant amount of filleting. In addition to the 9in flex cables, I also bought a 7in flex cable and a 6inch Over the course of the day, all the knives performed well as a whole. The amount of fish that we processed covered many different species of carp, northern pike, walleye, panfish, perch, lake trout, large and smallmouth bass, and catfish. We did not need to sharpen the knives throughout the long day and they came very sharp right out of the box. In general, the 7 in appeared to be most versatile, however, the 9 in was better for catching large Carp (20 pounds or more) and large Northern Pike (30 inches or more). Wiffies were used for stuff that didn't need much power, including A 7in Flex would probably be my choice if I could only choose one size. If you work with as many different species as we do, it is better to have more than one size. In any case- I will get right to it. It is concerning to see the coating separating from one of the knives (the only one). It is not down to abuse or a sub-par sharpener, but because we did not sharpen the knives. As it did not happen on the other side of the knife or on any of the other knives, it may be an isolated incident. In this case, the concern is how much is flaking off and how the non-flaked parts affect the non-flaked parts These are the components of a stick coating. There is a reason I removed the second star poor customer service. I sent an email over a month ago, expressing my concerns, but there has been no response. As I had waited until after I heard back before submitting this review, I expected better. There has been no response yet. I will keep you updated if someone else has anything to say. My knife has been replaced by the manufacturer and the manufacturer confirmed that the coating flaking off was an isolated event. I have been getting calls back from the manufacturer and they were very helpful. Although I have replaced the star I removed for poor customer service, we shall see how this turns out.
The knife I used for cleaning fish is the one I've been using on Lake of the Woods for the last three years while guiding. To maintain the sharpness of the edge, I use a steel in the morning and a stone at night. Every few weeks I touch up the nicks that form from using it heavily against heavy ribs. Despite being so old, the knife is in excellent condition. As compared to any knife I've used, I find that the grip is comfortable and provides maximum grip. It only has one downside if slime and fish guts are allowed to dry on the handle, the texture in the grip makes it hard to clean. Apart from that, I can't think of anything that I dislike. I will keep buying this knife for a long time to come.
Historically, I have used Rapala fillet knives since I heart the versatility of them. I am very happy with my first Bubba knife. Because I do offshore fishing more frequently, I needed a knife that can hold an edge, and the Rapala knife does not do so. There is nothing better than this knife. The non-profit sector A slip occurred. Case that serves its purpose. A sharp edge. However, I was pleasantly surprised that even though I did not feel very flexible, the skin worked quite well. It's too early to care whether they can hold an edge. pleased with the result.
I bought it after seeing all the advertisements for it over Mostly bought it for cleaning crappie, but got the wrong size, it was a 9" version instead of a Having used it a couple times now, I can say it has a longer length than your typical Rapala knife and many other filet knives. It is still as sharp as it was when I first bought it even after cleaning more than 100 crappie and saugeye with I am pleased with the overall outcome. It's not often that I write reviews, but I thought this one deserved one.
In contrast to the cheap ones I was buying before, the blade I got from here has performed much better than the cheap ones. The best feature of this machine is its ease of cleaning and flexibility, which allows me to cut boneless fillets with it.
Bubba's second filet knife (different sizes) is exactly what I need. The blade is of very good quality. Various tasks can be done with it, including fileting fish up to 20 pounds. As a way to compete with others, Bubba should offer resharpening services for their knives at a low price.
The consumers can enjoy their products for a longer period of time because of this.
Your money will not be wasted. After getting it as a birthday gift, I finally got out to fish with I accidentally snapped the blade the first time I used it after applying a bit of pressure while filing. It has passed the time for returns on Amazon. My money has been taken. Thanks for accepting it.
It's awesome having Bubba Blade as a friend! The knives are nice, and I like the feel of them. Any fish from big water salmon to bass will fall off the grate with ease. Wes Still Fighting when other guys are putting "lesser" knives to the test.
