If a unit fails, TecTecTec will not provide support. Mine worked for a few months before the LCD display began to fail, displaying only half of the digits. I assumed the problem was due to a faulty battery, so I replaced it, but the problem persisted. br>br>When I contacted TecTecTec support, they advised me to leave the rangefinder in the sun for a day. That was my first attempt, but it didn't work. I sent an email to support asking what I should do next, but they didn't respond.
This was purchased to replace an older, bulky range finder that was still functional but required wire repairs and was difficult to replace the battery. br>I like the continuous ranging feature on the Prowild because it's small and accurate. One issue I had was that it worked great when I first installed the battery, but once it timed out and turned off, it wouldn't turn back on unless I removed the battery cap and replaced it, after which it worked until it timed out again, and so on. I discovered that the brass connection on the cap had become tarnished to the point where it was no longer making good contact with the battery's positive terminal. I scraped the brass contact on the cap with care, and it now functions perfectly.
br>br>However, I ran into some issues with the unit, which were promptly resolved by the company's customer service. br>br>Great rangefinder for the price. br>br>However, I ran into some issues with the unit, which were promptly resolved by the company's customer service. br>br>When the company was informed of the problem, which included the mode not cycling, they did not hesitate to offer a new replacement unit in exchange for the old one. I was blown away. They needed the old one to look into the problem and find a solution. This tells me that the company not only believes in their product, but also strives to improve it.
Simple to work with. The battery life on this device has been excellent. It's also fairly accurate in terms of the range it shows. I don't think you'll find a better one for the price. The plastic doesn't feel particularly tough, but I keep it in my pack until I'm in the stand; I've dropped my pack from a height of 10 feet a few times and the range finder hasn't been affected, so it appears to be reasonably durable. It's something I'd buy again if the opportunity arose.
In less than five minutes after opening it, I was measuring distance. With gloves on, it's clear and simple to use. br> I use it more than the high-end brands I own, which are twice as expensive. br>When my grandson shoots his bb gun, he likes to play with it, and it has been dropped a few times and still works fine. br>For the money, this is unbeatable. br>I've used this for a distance of 400 yards. It's accurate as well.
This item left me feeling very let down. I used it for my first hunt, and the yards didn't show up at all. It's a matter of meters. The yards are completely devoid of any activity. Also, it's so hazy that I can't see it in good light, let alone in low light. After reading the reviews, I thought to myself, "Man, these look pretty good. " However, it was later discovered that they were manufactured at a very low cost. I hate to post negative reviews anywhere, but I felt compelled to warn others to buy from other sources.
I watched the short video before buying it, so loading the 3v included battery and getting it going took about 5 minutes. I put it to the test up to 15 yards with another laser rangefinder I had, and it was dead on. I understand the principle of non-visible laser distance measuring devices as a retired land surveyor, and this little guy does the job for the money.
