That's not the case.
The RX- 2800 is now source a 100% from Taiwan a 100% from Taiwan a 100% from Taiwan a 10 We recently transitioned from China to Taiwan on this product. And to be clear 100% of Leupold's Riflescopes and Red Dot sights have always come out of our factory We've never made a rangefinder at our Beaverton headquarters.
I'm afraid I'm unable to provide an answer. What I can recommend is that you look at the lens size and make a decision based on that.

I recently returned a Vortex for a refund of about $100. On an overcast day, mounted to a tripod, it was unable to range a 4'x4' white steel plate at 700 meters. This is about as good as it gets for a laser rangefinder. br>br>This Leupold blows the Vortex away. I took it out for a spin today and was able to range targets out to 1,700 meters while standing unsupported. Simply incredible! I can't say enough good things about this unit; for ELR shooting, I can't think of a better tool.
So, while this is a great rangefinder, I put it up against her Vortex Razor 4000 at 2300 yards in the rain. I was able to pick up a clump of trees at 2300 yards with the vortex 4000 20 times in a row, but I was unable to do so even once with the Leopold 2800. That was the only time I was able to discern a difference in performance between the two. They appear to be identical up to about 1800 m 1900 m; I'm testing in the rain because I want to simulate a real-world situation. After about an hour of shooting individual targets back-to-back, you'll be ready to move on to the next In the rain, by switching back and forth between the two scopes, I was able to get accurate ranges from both of them out to about 1940 m. But I was able to get an extra 400 meters out of the vortex, which the Leopold couldn't match.
I've covered 1500 yards with trees and soft brush. My previous rangefinder was much less powerful, only reading at 400 yards on rare occasions. It has some intriguing features, but it is a little difficult to understand. The main disadvantage is that it consumes a lot of battery power, particularly when scanning. I switched to Surefire® batteries and have noticed a slight improvement in battery life, but it would be nice if they provided a case with a compartment for 1-cell batteries. Two additional batteries are available.
This Leupold rangefinder has risen to the top of the list at this price point after a month of research. For the sake of precision It has even outperformed some of the much more expensive competitors in terms of clarity. You can't get much better than this if you want to improve your long-range game without jeopardizing your marriage.
This will give me accurate readings out to 1700 yards, which is what I shoot at. Thermals can be an issue at Ultra Ranges, but this thing is worth twice as much. I like the screen, it's accurate, and it's a good size.
The RX-series from Leupold is a high-performance rifle scope. The 2800 TBR is larger and heavier, but it appears to be more accurate, making it easier to range items and allowing me to get hits outside of the advertised range. The OLED screen on this, on the other hand, is no brighter, sharper, or easier to see than the one on the RX- Especially on a foggy day in the desert, 1000i! On a bright day, I don't think I'll be able to see anything on the screen! Objects in the foreground will also prevent you from ranging a distant object! This is also true for the RX-100. It was possible to improve 1000i! As a result, this is the last Leupold rangefinder I'll ever buy!.
Out to 1700 yards, I was able to get accurate readings on trees and sagebrush.
Last Friday, I used my rangefinder for the first time, and I was blown away. The unit's clarity and accuracy were outstanding, and it's small and light but extremely easy to operate. This simplified the process of acquiring my targets.
