When you say "automatically advance," I assume you mean "does it automatically advance to the next hole when you do?" Yes, it is true! It contains a large number of courses, and it recognizes which one you are on automatically. It is carried out via satellite.
I'm not sure what I'm saying. It's something I've never done before. My Golf Buddy is usually a few years old by the time it can no longer hold a charge, so I simply replace it with a newer and better model. I'd never considered changing the battery before.
It's all right in our house. You've got one that's not working. Please return it!

I bought this as a gift for my husband, and it worked fine for the first two months, but then the battery began to fail on occasion. We would charge the unit for 8 hours, but the battery icon would show little to no battery power, and it wouldn't last a full golf round after 6 months because of the battery issues. We also discovered that finding the course you're playing on can take up to ten minutes. Needless to say, we were dissatisfied with this product and are now hesitant to buy more Golf Buddy items.
My expectations for this device were well-founded. To begin, I'll say that I had a model prior to this one, and due to the same flaws, I began looking for another option, and in the end, I didn't make a mistake.

I assumed the watch band and the unit matched to make it look like an apple watch based on the product photos. I was sorely mistaken. br>br>The GolfBuddy unit is about half an inch thick and sits atop a watch band, creating an awkwardly HUGE mound on your wrist once mounted. br>br>Also, this unit is not intuitive to use. When compared to a comparable Garmin s20, it is not very accurate. During my round, it kept losing signal and had to be rebooted several times. br>br>You are unable to access any of its functions in order to pre-configure them. If you're not on a golf course, learn the unit. When I'm on a golf course, all I want to do is play golf, not learn how to use a golf GPS! br>br>This is a product I would avoid.
I was pleasantly surprised that the cost was not significantly higher than when I purchased my first one! I like how the distance to the center, back, and front of the green is displayed right on the screen in this one. I also like how, if I clip it on my belt, I can flip the screen so I don't have to look at it upside down, and how quickly it finds the course I'm playing. What a fantastic purchase!.
When it's in working order, the Golf Buddy is a fantastic golf distance finder. It is equipped with golf courses. It's fully loaded and uses GPS to locate you. The course doesn't make use of cellular data. I use it in conjunction with the optional wristband so that when I approach my ball, a quick glance tells me how far away the hole is. It includes distances from the front of the green, the middle of the green, and the back of the green. It has a battery life of approximately two rounds and recharges quickly. It bothers me in two ways. To begin with, locating the course can take several minutes. It's too late if I'm on the first tee when I turn it on. To give it enough time to find the course, I have to turn it on while I'm in the pro shop. Second, it loses track of its location at least once in almost every round. It doesn't work well with GPS from inside a golf cart, and it can lose its location if I cover it inadvertently, such as by folding my arms. It can take several minutes, or even a couple of holes, to recover its location once it has been lost. It has to be restarted every now and then. I'm still glad I got it, and I believe it was well worth the money.
Since 2016, this is the second Golf Buddy I've ordered. The first one performed admirably until the battery died. I decided to order this new battery because replacing the old one was too difficult. Sadly, this one does not appear to be very effective. Even though these courses have been available for many years, it takes an eternity for the satellite to find them (if it ever does). When it does work, the speaker is on the back of the unit, which is a problem. The speaker is blocked when it's clipped to your pocket, hat, or belt, and the volume won't go loud enough for you to hear it.
The golf buddy was not one of my favorites. The yardage was discovered to be incorrect. I was standing on the golf course's 150 yard marker. 135 yards to the middle, according to a golfing buddy. My Garmin Approach S20, as well as the course marker, both said 150. We tried it on three more holes and found it to be incorrect on all three, so we retuned it.
She values the fact that the yardage numbers are large enough to read easily. It's also worth noting that there's an audio option. After receiving the product, I had to contact the seller, and they were extremely accommodating. This is a product that I wholeheartedly endorse.
