THINGS TO BE THANKFUL FOR: There are numerous ball-related activities available. Devices that generate random movements, for example, are available on the market. All of these are excellent for improving reaction time and hand-eye coordination. However, it still is a baseball, which gives it an advantage over other products. Gloving and tossing the ball becomes more natural as a result. When attempting to catch a thrown ball, keep in mind that it will curve all over the place. br>br>NEGATIVES: br>br>NEGATIVES: br>br>NEGATIVE You must be indoors and on a hard surface to achieve the 'random squirrel' bounce effect. The counter-weight can be used on grass or dirt. The ball barely moves as its weight is absorbed. On top of that, even on hard surfaces, the harder you throw the ball, the straighter it will go. Getting the right throw speed to get the ball to the player while also generating enough random movement takes some practice. It's also because it's the polar opposite of what we want to do. When your throw is weighted, there is an alignment where no random movement occurs. When you consider the cost, this is a training tool that I don't use very often.

As a training tool for young players, it's fine
3/5

For infield agility training, I bought this for my 9-year-old son. The product works fine, but as it rolls on dirt, it loses speed; the random movement is good for training, but it slows down considerably, making it easy to field. Instead, I recommend the rubber agility training balls (which aren't quite balls because they have four rounded edges).

Excellent tool for training
5/5

Ideally suited for fielding drills: Great little training tool; my son and I have been using it for a few weeks and it has kept him focused on the ball because it bounces and moves as if it hits something on the ground. It aids his reflection and reaction time, and the shipping service was extremely quick, arriving days ahead of schedule. Amazon, please accept my gratitude.

Overall, this is a good training aid
4/5

This is what I use for a 9U team to simulate bad infield hops. The movement isn't quite as dramatic as I had hoped, but it's still useful.

Good Product: We like the product, and it is exactly what we expected
4/5

My only complaint was the amount of time it took for them to arrive at our location. We paid half the price for shipping on a more expensive training softball (bigger and heavier), and it arrived in half the time.

Ball with a reaction This is exactly what I was looking for, and it's in fantastic shape
4/5

However, it turned out to be slightly more expensive than what I could have found in a local store.
