The typical lacrosse ball is too hard and causes pain in the trigger points. When you lean into this medicine ball, the action becomes longer and wider. It extends the length of the muscle, allowing you to control the area covered by moving up and down against a solid door. The first one was bitten by my cat - As a result, water and a dead ball have been discovered. Unless it's needed, this ball is stored in a drawer. You'll be glad you did if you get one of these.
This was recommended by my contortion instructor as a way to loosen up tight spots on my body. OMG. It's a lot gentler than using a lacrosse ball, particularly on knotty areas. It feels incredible and has made such a difference in my warm-ups; I also like to use it after a long day when my body is tired from constantly moving around. This is a fantastic addition to my small collection of workout equipment.
I used this ball for self-back massage during a PT session. I had previously experimented with tennis balls, racquetballs, and even an apple. This ball is the perfect weight and consistency for me, and it helps me avoid seeing my physical therapist as frequently as I used to.
You simply cannot make your own or locate another ball with the required weight and bounce. I use this ball a lot and it holds up well; I'm glad I bought it and will continue to use it for a long time.
This is the same ball that my Physical Therapist employs.
It's actually a replacement for one that I had for over ten years and had worn out! This is an excellent item.
I bought this after my physical therapist recommended it, and I'm using it to strengthen my arm after an accident and surgery to the elbow area, as well as being diagnosed with CRPS. The outer layer is my favorite because it's easier to grip and works my hand and wrist at the same time. I also purchased the following one, the red one. That's something I'm hoping to get to soon.
Individuals in physical therapy who are working to achieve a specific muscle control activity will benefit greatly from this product.
