Kayaking is the purpose for which I purchased this product. The large fits me well at 5'10", 36 inch waist, and I wear a 36" waist. These pants feel like wearing tights, but they are comfortable to wear. No pockets exist on the outside, but there is a small pocket inside. The fact that they don't appeal to me, but I can live without it. If they get wet, they dry very quickly. I will no longer have to wash my car seat after kayaking in the water.
