Questions & Answers

Is the polarized combination of smoke, red, and yellow lenses?

It's just polarized smoke. Depending on the sun, the color will be lighter or darker. Excellent for cycling and running!

Is there a magnification on these?

They don't, in fact. They function in the same way that regular sunglasses do.

Are these FOTOTEC brown polarized or simply brown polarized?

I'm not sure what I'm saying. They've split into two camps. I'm not sure if it says fototec in the description. They don't appear to lighten or darken in response to the sun or shadows.

Do these sunglasses and fashion spectacles meet the requirements of AS/NZS 1067, an Australian/New Zealand standard for sunglasses and fashion spectacles?

As/nzs 1067 is followed by Tifosi Optics. Sunglasses are subject to a single Australian/New Zealand standard.

It's incredibly cozy
4/5

The nosepiece is like magic; it is positioned so that it does not obstruct vision at all, has a very low profile, and is made of a magical material that grips the bridge of your nose and cuts right through grease and sweat like it isn't even there. These shades aren't going to fall off your face. br>The lenses don't lighten much as the light changes, but some do. It has a strong polarizing effect. I'm not sure if the vent holes in the corners of the lenses are necessary, but they don't appear to let in a lot of light, so they're not a big deal. I use these for road cycling and find them to be very useful. They are low-profile, so if you prefer a lot of lenses, they may not be for you. They are my favorite.

The Tyrant and Tyrant 2 are compared
4/5

9/4/2014, 2nd edit:
- br>It's been a long time since Amazon replaced the original set. br>These shades have been abandoned and abused. I've worn them in and out of heavily chlorinated water and while wearing them, I used a small angle grinder. Every step of the way, you are subjected to a barrage of abuse. br>As of today, they are in very good condition. The first pair turned out to be a dud, as I had suspected. I'm not sure what that says about Tifosi's quality control, but it's to be expected when something is mass produced. ANYTHING. that a couple of bad apples will fall through the cracks br>br>In my opinion, this is still a very safe bet. Take precautions. br> br>br>Creative+ paraphrase:
- Having spent some time with the Tyrant 2, I'd like to share my thoughts on it. 0 I believe it is now appropriate for me to express my thoughts. They're a lot more comfortable than the Tyrant, especially when crossing the bridge. The frame is noticeably lighter, and I occasionally forget they're on my head (though not while wearing them on my eyes), which has resulted in me dropping them. Which brings me to my one and only gripe. br>br>The original Tyrants were constructed in the style of a brick wall. Shades don't bother me all that much. I DO, however, PLAY HARD and put them through the wringer from time to time. When I had the originals, I used to do a lot of trail riding and wore them while mowing my lawn. Needless to say, things got in the way of the lenses. They never scratched, and I mean never. They were bulletproof to the point of being impenetrable. After a week with the Tyrant 2, I'm ready to move on to the next challenge. 0 I discovered that the film on the lens's edge has started to peel away a little for no apparent reason. I hadn't even given them a difficult task yet. br>br>When I contacted Amazon, they were gracious enough to replace them (quickly, to boot). I've been wearing the replacement pair on a daily basis since then, and I've already dropped them (on the lens!). Since that time, I've had no problems. It could have been a fluke, but I think you're entitled to know before you go out and buy a pair. It's possible that it's just a case of sloppy quality control. br>br>My opinion of this pair of shades has not changed, and I continue to give them a four-star rating.

- br>br>Last year, I was on the lookout for a good, mid-priced pair of jeans. sunglasses with polarized lenses at a reasonable price The Tifosi Tyrant drew my attention right away. It has a similar design to the Oakley Half-Framed Sunglasses. Jackets from the 1990s, but without sacrificing the characteristics that distinguish Tifosi designs. br>br>As well as the quality, the price was reasonable. In the middle of July, I picked up my polarized, matte black, and gunmetal Tyrants for $60 shipped. br>Since then, they've been stolen (which is why I no longer buy Oakley products), and I went looking for a replacement set, only to discover that the Tyrant has been discontinued and replaced with the Tyrant 2. 0br>br>Because I've only had the 2, 0 for a few days now, I've decided that rather than writing an opinion piece, I should simply list what distinguishes them from one another, in case anyone else is in my shoes. br>br>Frame – TR- was the Tyrant's frame. The temple pieces were made of a posable aluminum alloy, while the brow was made of 90 Grylamid (bendable plastic). They were strong and light, and they were simple to mold into the desired shape. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br 0 frame is TR-free. 90 Grylamid, which I assume was a cost-effective decision for Tifosi (despite the fact that this model is significantly more expensive). br>br>As far as I can tell, the weight of the two models is identical, but I imagine that in the long run, the TR-X will be heavier. The 90 can withstand a little more punishment than the aluminum. The temple piece now bears the (T) logo, rather than the Tifosi that previously adorned it. The frame is a little more aggressive in terms of appearance, which I like. br>br>Lens – There isn't a lot to say about this. On the 2, the lenses are Although the 0 lenses aren't quite as wide as the Tyrant lenses, they appear to cover the same area. Optical quality is on par with (or better than) some of the industry's leading brands. My friend, an ex-US Forest Ranger who swears by higher-end brands, couldn't believe the clarity of Tifosi's polarized lenses. br>br>Comfort- I believe some people will find this to be hit or miss. These are not as comfy as the originals right out of the box. They're a millimeter or so narrower than the Tyrant in general, so they'll need a little more shaping than the first model. br>This is where the TR-issue comes into play. A total of 90 temple pieces are used in the game. Not everyone has the patience to shape their frames, and you'll need to take your time with these. br>br>However, now that I've shaped them, I'm finding them more comfortable than the originals after breaking them in. br>On a side note, the bridge piece has been greatly improved over the original, and is now held in place by two screws (Tyrant 1. Only one was used, and it was made of a superior (hydrophobic) rubber. They also hold their position much better than the original bridge piece, which adds to the glasses' comfort. br>br>In general, I'd go with the 2. 0 is a significant improvement over the previous version. The quality is undeniable, and the comfort/style/price ratio is immediately apparent after removing them from the box and adjusting them to your head. If you're debating whether or not to upgrade, GO FOR IT! If you're interested in trying them out but have never owned Tyrants/ Tifosi sunglasses before, go for it!.

Great pair of sunglasses! This is an excellent pair of sunglasses! They're extremely comfy and stylish
5/5

I also like that the lenses are interchangeable and that there is a large selection of lenses to choose from. On Tifosi's website, there's a link to a video that demonstrates how easy it is to replace them. I bought the Carbon frame, Smoke Polarized lens pair, and despite the fact that the lenses are Fototec, I didn't notice any difference in shading when I went from inside to outside. To test this, I covered half of one of the lenses with the cleaning cloth that came with the sunglasses and exposed it to direct sunlight for about a minute. Much to my surprise, the uncovered half of the lens was actually much darker than the covered half after I removed the cloth. As a result, they must be Fototec. I suppose the change is so subtle that it isn't noticeable when wearing them. In addition, the polarization is very effective. Obviously, I'm a big fan of these shades and would recommend them to anyone. The quality is excellent, and the cost is a fraction of what you'd pay for similar products. Without the added technologies, well-known brands would be less well-known.

Finally, polarized glasses with polarized lenses
5/5

These are fantastic. I purchased four pairs of polarized sunglasses on Amazon. These were the only ones that were truly polarized. They're comfortable, clear, and light, and they stay in place. br>br> I went out and bought a clear snap-on bag. When we're out riding late at night, we'll need lenses as well. The Florida bugs are kept out of my eyes thanks to this. These glasses are fantastic. br>br> People, you've done a fantastic job. br>br>Strongly suggested. br>br>.

Sport sunglasses that are fantastic
5/5

I bought these to use while running and I'm very pleased with them. Despite the fact that I sweat profusely, they always remain in place. If you get swear on your lenses, they come off very easily, and after trying a few other (much more expensive) options, these are by far the best. br>br>I've used these for golfing, going to the pool, and mowing the lawn, despite the fact that I bought them for running. They've stood the test of time and are now my go-to shoes. as an alternative.

Great pair of sunglasses
5/5

I've always ordered Tifosi sunglasses, and my white pair, which I'd had for seven years, finally gave up the ghost. After an 8-year hiatus, I went back to look for them and came across these. Any color option will provide excellent quality, but carbon fiber is my favorite; my only complaint is that these do not include the other interchangeable lenses that my previous pair did. Fortunately, I still have the clear and orange ones, which fit perfectly in this frame.

In bright sunlight, lenses do not darken enough, and in low light, they do not lighten enough
3/5

These are the ones I bought as my primary search tools. As an eye protection measure, rescue to minimize changing glasses from the woods to open areas. Unfortunately, the lenses are mostly standard sunglasses, as they never get clear enough to use in low light conditions, even on a sunny day in the woods. br>br>Design, comfort, and appearance (subjective) are all excellent, but make sure you only buy these as sunglasses.

I give the Tifosi Tyrant a thumbs up for looks and fit
3/5

I give the Tifosi Tyrant 5 out of 5 stars for appearance and fit. A 0 for long-term durability. These glasses have only been seen in two places: When I'm out on the water (only on Sundays), I keep it in the case or on my nose. The polarization film on BOTH lenses began to peel away after only 5 months. I only use the cloth that came with them to clean them, and I take great care of them. Shame on you! I recently bought another pair of the same sunglasses (not polarized, but in a different color), and I'm hoping they'll last a little longer!.
