Replace your Alpha I Gen I cable with this OEM part

My Wellcraft 215 Eclipse with a 5. 9L Mercruiser (now Mercury Marine) stern drive is equipped with this OEM replacement shift cable. I have a 1990 Mercruiser stern drive. The Mercruiser Alpha I (Gen I) stern drive has exactly the right fit for all parts. As for the cable, I had to replace it for the second time in the last 24 years. As always, I recommend using the special socket specified by the factory.
