Compared to the OEM cable, this cable appeared to have a higher build quality. I made it a little bit longer than the original, but the difference wasn't particularly noteworthy, as the slack was easily taken up by the hull. My steering is now easier and more precise than it was in the past. This cable would have been invaluable to me if I'd bought it sooner.
