Questions & Answers

This would be safe to use on the engine area of a car, would it be safe for electrical use?

On my boat, it does not have any negative effects on the electrical system. With Salt Away, I spray all the parts of my boat including all of the electrical components.

The top knob on the applicator, is it possible to switch to soap, then back to clear water or is it always soap until it runs out. ?

You can turn the knob on the top to either turn on water only or to turn on soap and water. To prevent a motor from overheating, just turn the knob about halfway before you turn the dispenser on. If you're using the applicator on an outboard motor, you may want to turn it off before turning the knob.

I can't turn the knob on top of my applicator, and it feels like it is about to snap off. Can you tell me what the problem is? Could you tell me which screw to loosen? Are we talking about something brand new here?

Despite its knobon top, it is difficult to turn. The fact that I am a large man makes turning it extremely challenging for me. My level of resistance is so high that I can't even think of making any adjustments.

Pay attention to nothing but don't cross your fingers
5/5

A lot of reviews were read when I was looking for a flush applicator. The quality of the equipment, overheating due to lack of flow, and leaks are a few of the complaints. As a result, I tested the flow before using it, and there was no issue, along with ample water flowing through. I used it in conjunction with another product I had purchased previously. It was mixed, connected, and the hose was turned on and the outboard Yamaha 115 was started. All was well and worked as it was expected. It doesn't seem that this should break down. There was foam seen coming out of each port on the motor, indicating it should last a long time. The following edits have been made

. I read reviews that said that it leaked, and I still feel the same as I do now. Here's what happened. I finally got it on me. In the grove of the cup portion, an o ring gasket should be black. In the top there is a black plastic ring that fits into this groove. Occasionally, the o ring sticks, and if you do not notice it or are cleaning out the unit, you can lose it and not even notice until the next time the seal doesn't work properly and leaks all over the place. Ultimately, she found it on the drive and we had no idea where it came from since we had no idea My first thought was to buy it and it would work perfectly, but then we used it and it leaked, so I remembered reading some There should be a grove in the cap where it should stick. Keep a close eye on things and you will have no problems.

This is a bleaching agent that works well on Those who own RVs are familiar with the need to bleach their water lines every year
5/5

Easy to use tool that makes the process a lot easier. It is pretty easy to do. Just put bleach in the cup, connect it to a garden hose, and connect the other end to the RV, and you're set. As I was going at it, I filled the cup with bleach about half full. Although the outside connection did leak a bit, I only need to run the bleaching process for a few minutes to get the bleach into the lines, and then everything's fine. During the first 5 minutes after they come out, I let each faucet (both hot and cold) sit for about 5 minutes before running a little more water and letting them By injecting fresh bleach into the system, I keep the system clean. It's by far the easiest and cheapest way to bleach. If you use freshwater for drydocking, you will still need to fill your freshwater tank before use and use bleach to sanitize, but we never dry dock, so this way suits our needs.

I don't like this piece of junk

I turned on the water and was surprised to find a cracked reservoir. This was a brand new product and I was unable to test it. This is junk!.

I was right! It works great! It's one of those items that you wonder why nobody thought of this years ago once you have tried it out
5/5

I'm just saying that it Additionally, it is great that you're able to purchase it from a company like Star Brite. They ALWAYS go above and beyond to meet the needs In business, you can measure a company not by how they are when everything's going smoothly, but by how they are when things go The company contacted me about a problem I was experiencing. I had a replacement at no cost within one day of the request. The level of customer service exhibited there is one we don't see very often these days. If you want to get rid of salt stains from your car, make sure you buy the Star brite Salt Off Applicator . You should also buy from Star Brite because dealing with a company like them is worth it.

I found the cup to be flimsy
3/5

For over six years I have used the automatic "SALT OFF " by Starbrite. I have three units now and they all do a good job. To no avail, however, as this 150 motor has the thin wall block issue, and even though the warranty had 2 years left, they refused to honor it! Nonetheless, the flush unit did its job as the engine was clean on the inside. One problem I have with this China made El cheapo plastic item is that while the item itself works fine, the cup in which the liquid is dispensed does not. This is even when I rinse and dry everything. The Salt Off fluid eats it up and cracks it. These parts appear to be available in my area, so I will try them,.

The 2018 Raptor in Chicago works great with this plug-in
5/5

My car had been and continues to be ruined by snow and salt, so I picked up this product and used it as a prewash, followed by a quick hand wash. Taking the vehicle to 26 degrees didn't cause me any problems. In the future, I will likely prewash with foam, then raise the surface, followed by Star Brite as the last step. My purchase worked great on my truck and I am extremely satisfied with it.

I had to throw away the bottle after several uses of it because it burst
3/5

The results are quite good I cannot find anything else like it, so I will probably purchase It would be nice if you could use a larger bottle I was using it to spray liquid fertilizer and amendments on my lawn in the garden. Despite its size, the bottle only weighs four ounces. There is only 5 ounces in the bottle, so you have to refill it a few times while spraying to get enough It burst after three months of intermittent use, probably due to pressure from my garden hose (which was not severe). The "Mixture" you're seeing is the "Mixture" itself There is a problem turning the "Water Only" dial.

Buy this product and DO NOT get ripped off! On the motor, the cooling ports and lines elide and clog! The product I bought was intended to flush my engine (2014 Suzuki 250 SS) after trips to the coast
3/5

It seemed like a good product initially, but after flushing the engine a few times, I took the boat out and it overheated. When I pulled off all the water cooling lines and ports, I found that the "Salt Off" gelled up inside my motor and clogged most of the lines, ports, manifolds, etc. Because I know how to work on my engine, otherwise this would have been an VERY expensive repair or worse, a A new motor would have cost $25,000 if the old motor had It is not a product I would recommend to anyone!.
