The only thing I don't like about it is the lock, which appears to be present on all the new 2nd generation ones as well

Love every other thing about it except the You have to release it harder to close, and you put your finger in harm's way when you do this. The knife is otherwise well made and of high quality.

The sailing knife is really nice. It's a nice piece of craftsmanship and it's Using a sheath is a great way to prevent the knife from getting caught in lines. I want to have this at my fingertips in case of an emergency.

It came in a neat box with a cute little belt sheath that fits perfectly and does not get in the way on the boat. My intention was to use it on a sail in Croatia, and it performed just as I had.
