I do not think this is a very bright idea

Sadly, it wasn't as bright as I expected, only lighting an area on the boat's deck of about 8" x 8". If you want to see where you're going, they can work as accent lighting, but not if you want to see where you're There was only one side of the foam pad that was sticky. (while the wire gauge was fine for the LEDs to work) it was far too thin for stripping and handling. It does contain 10 of them, and that's the only positive I can say about it.

Make sure the hook is baited

You've made some awesome pictures. It is not blinding on the water at night but provides just the right amount of light to bait the hook with and still be able to see to cast when looking Happy to hear that. This is an easy device to wire up with a switch box. It worked for my 15 year old, so it should work for you too.

I think it's great for the cost

They are great for kayaks, and they are pretty bright for the price. I used the other colors for interior lighting, and they all ran off one 12v 7-cell battery. Five hours have passed since 5ah, and they are all bright now.
