I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT A CAPSTAN IS.br>
It will fit; all you have to do is open up the hole on the deck to allow the chain to pass through. The retrofit template is in the hands of Maxwell.

It's been almost two years since it's been working perfectly.
I'm the proud owner of a 2003 Carver 366. This was the same brand and fit the same drill holes as the previous one. We only have a small cubby area for access, but it took three hours and two people to complete. I use 115 feet of chain connected to the anchor and it works great. I'm very happy.
It took two tries for OJ Commerce to get it all here, but it's a nice windlass.
The winch itself is in excellent condition, but the up/down switch was defective. Despite the fact that I returned the defective item, the seller has not replaced it. THIS SELLER SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS!.
A++++.
This is an RC-type vehicle. There isn't an rc8 here. 5/8" rode and 5/16" chain are correct descriptions.
This is a fantastic windlass. I was going to order from Amazon, but I already had a 4 inch deck with the pulpit, so I needed the EDC version. First and foremost, this thing is lightning fast; I had 500 feet of rope loaded up in less than 5 minutes. br>According to the instructions, installation was a breeze. There was not a single issue. Although the manual stated that it was designed for 5/8 rope, it loaded up perfectly with 1/2 inch rope. It was a breeze to get in. br>I also spent about $20 on an atv remote that works perfectly. It's just a black plastic box with four wires and an antenna wire, and it's super easy to set up now that I have a remote control. There are no drawbacks that I can think of.
