New anchorages are made available as a result of this. The setup was simple, and the accessories that came with it were excellent. Many brands demand that you purchase these items separately. The link is broken. The HRC8's wheel appears to work with any chain or rope I have; I tried it with 5/16" BBB and then 1/4"HT, and both worked perfectly. The lack of an emergency backup feature is a disadvantage of this windlass. Although I haven't tried the freefall function, powerdown is simple and quick. With 100 feet of chain and a 35 pound anchor, this thing isn't even struggling to pull.
On my 32-foot express, I replaced the lewmar. This windlass has so many positive features that I can't say enough about it. There have been no issues in over a year of almost weekly use. In addition, it is simple to set up.
After two months of use with the recommended rode chain, the plastic chain stripper in the case is already warping. For the plastic, chain and plastic is never a good combination. has a powerful pull.
